Round 4 Summary

Aaannnd, FRANK GRIMES IS DEAD, LET'S GOOOOOOO!!! All guest stars have been eliminated, and so our world is pure. This round has had THE most polarized polls thus far, with Smithers vs. Moe being the most circulated poll here. With the fall of Smithers, it's no telling who will take his place in challenging the finals. Is Moe the true prophet, or will he fall to Homer in Round 5? Other fan-favorites were eliminated, such as Seymour to Lisa, Edna to Bart, Lenny to Homer, and surprisingly to me, Kang & Kodos to Krusty, and during the ToH round even!

During a poll in Round 4, I asked y'all to decide a theme for Round 5, and just by one vote, Modern Classics won out! I'll be sure to select images from only the best post-classic episodes!

Round 5 Over; Semifinals Incoming

Our final four contenders. Each has fought tooth and nail, eliminating anyone between them and this final moment, just for the chance to make it into the finals. Lisa, Marge, Moe, and Ralph. A moment of euphoria for each.

Round 5 Summary

So uhh... where did all 1.5k of y'all come from? Moe v Homer took by far and away the most votes out of any poll here, surpassing the previous record from Smithers v Moe! Besides that, the other polls were near sweeps, with Lisa absolutely dominating Patty. Now we have come to only two more polls, two more winners, in the round of greatest moments... though Moe doesn't really have a "greatest moe-ment," does he, huh?

Finals Idea

We've cut down our roster to the point of all-out warfare in some polls, which I couldn't be happier about! But with the finals now so close, I was brainstorming ideas. Many other poll runners have generally lack-luster graphic abilities, which is why I always get a new image every round, but this is a big problem when it comes to making a finally feel special. Many things need to be set up before hand with care, else it doesn't feel special. For Round 6, aka Semi-Finals, I was thinking about using a "greatest moment" image. Think Summer of 4ft2 when Lisa is in the air or Marge embracing Maggie in her arms at the end of Home Sweet Home Diddly. But for Finals I thought up something special. Here's what it should look like when we reach it:

Yes, I'm still salty about McClure's elimination. It's the same 4X3 aspect ratio, nine moments from the series in a collage, with the center being the "greatest moment," Simpsons text and flames to top it off. I would need to add more bells 'n whistles, for example more flames, appropriate coloration for the background, and vignettes maybe, but I'll be happy if I can foster further excitement during Finals with it. Also with designing these, I need to thank the GOAT, @autismswagsummit for inspiration for basically my entire design. It's amazing how they were able to create such grand designs and harbor the intense enthusiasm! I even made a fan poster of the best outcome of Doubles.

Anyways, what do you think of the poster so far? Could it use something I haven't even considered? Should I just default to using plain promotional PNG's that aren't the same size in all future matches? Let me know! I thank you for reading, this has been Disgruntled Goat :D!

Round 5 Theme

Last time, I asked y'all about a theme for R4, for which I offered the choice of ToH or Flash-Backs/Forwards with a promise that both would be implemented. But I've been thinking about the bias that would come with using images exclusively from Flash B/F. The Simpson family would have the most high-quality and important rips, but most everyone else would either just look younger or older. These episodes always focus on the family so it gives little room for side-characters unless they want to do a quick gag. With this in mind, I'm unsure what I'll be doing for R5 now (which we'll be down to 8 characters). I've come up with another alternative, however, which would have images only gathered from Season 11 onward, using images from episodes like "Moe Baby Blues" or "Portrait of a Lackey on Fire", to level the field against the family. Keep in mind that all this is to make the Rounds leading to Finals feel special, so I could also just add bells 'n whistles to standard episode images. With that, I ask for your input:

Since we're coming down to the last 16 finalists, I was thinking I could do something special for the next batch of polls, during Rounds 4 and 5. Either A) I gather all my images from flash-forward/backs or B) I gather all my images from Treehouse of Horror episodes. I plan to do both, but I'm curious which y'all would rather like to see for Round 4 first

Quick announcement, due to how the week went for me, I'm opting for Round 3's TidBit's to be near entirely taken from wikis. I apologize, as I haven't been able to polish the wordings of many of them and especially to those who have enjoyed how I typically direct my speech. (Typing that I realize I could have just said "writing style", but goes to show it)
