Civilian role(nickname): The Librarian

What you were doing before being rudely interrupted by an international crisis: Helping patrons access some of our fantastic online resources when a two-man chase began at our front door, cut through Baby-in-Lap Story Time, wound through the fiction and mystery stacks, and then proceeded out the back loading dock. It was all very quick and I didn’t get a good look at either them, but the one doing the chasing had an earpiece in and was asking “Dinner at eight, Q?” as he passed, as if he wasn’t in the middle of a marathon chase. Luckily no patrons were harmed, our stacks are in the pristine order I left them in, and our intra and inter-library loans will be getting out on time today! That’s all I can help with in your investigation. Unless, of course, you’d like to register for a library card?

What you’re most looking forward to during Fest: Maybe actually writing something instead of daydreaming about writing something? Also being more social! I've really abandoned Tumblr and my messages have piled up. I hope to use the fest to connect and reconnect with more people in the fandom :)

Intro Post - Dhampir72

Hello everyone! Back for another year of 007 Fest! I believe this will be my second year as a Civilian, after retirement from active duty in Q-Branch.

My plan this year is to actually post some fic and maybe not be as much of a hermit. I love to lurk, but not really talk, so it’s best to lure me out with memes or pictures of cats. Also, prompts! Help me be inspired this year! My ask box is open for 00q and q/Moneypenny prompts!

We’re still blown away by the enthusiasm the fandom’s shown for our miniBang (it’s now 25 fics and 25 pieces of art!!). And so to thank everyone who signed up, we’ve decided to rec their work in these posts and also to help you to get to know them better. You see, besides old favourites, we’ve also got quite a few newcomers!

We know that we’ve advertised the miniBang as “one last event before the movie” and now the premier’s moved to November, but the Bond fandom has no time to sigh!

We’ll keep writing and arting and supporting our writers and artists with many reblogs and comments!

1- The Deep Parts Pour Onwards. This was my RBB entry and I'm so proud of how it turned out! 

2- On Her Majesty's Secret Strandmon (AKA The IKEA fic). This is my favourite of all the fics I wrote during last year's 007 Fest. It's not the *best* fic I wrote during Fest, but it still makes me laugh and I'm reminded of Bond in a yellow high vis grumbling at furniture whenever I go to IKEA. 

I’m writing a fic for the minibang.

I’m writing for prompt: 

Bond’s done. The last mission was a wake-up call, he’s not up to par anymore. Moneypenny could have died. After weeks of moping, help comes from an unexpected quarter -- his balcony. The old grey tom’s got a limp, torn-up ears and a scar above his left eye. He also likes tuna and is a very good listener.

@dhampir72 is my partner and they are one of my favourite fic authors! My favourite fic of theirs is probably Perspicuity. Or Sigh No More. Or Where You Are. This is harder than picking my OWN works. 

Ask your partner: “If you were an ice cream flavour what flavour would you be and why?” What was their answer?

My favorite  is my latest one is an apocalyptic tale, And Stand Secure Amidst a Falling World. I have always loved  end of the world fics and finally wrote one. The other favorite is  On The Habits of the Phoenix. because the darned thing haunted my dreams until I got it on paper. 

I’m writing a fic for the minibang for the prompt: Genius

24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?

For my very first kylux fanfic, Moonbroch, I did a lot of research on pregnancies, because the plot centered around a baby being engineered from Kylo and Hux's DNA to serve The First Order, and even if it was all fiction, I wanted to get at the basic facts right.

And then for Children of the Night my original idea was that the reader insert character had Leukemia, and I did a lot of research on what the treatments for Leukemia were back in the 40's when the story takes place. I didn't describe the disease in full detail because I was dealing with something similar when I wrote that and didn't have the heart to include in the story I was using to cope, but ended up adding a bit of what I found in my research in the dialogue!
