interactivity is the core of reality. all “things” are actually bundles of correlating processes of interaction. it is in this way they things are said to be “empty,” or devoid of true substance. all phenomena, or “dharmas” (here understood as bundles of correlating processes), are the result of a million interactions, really an infinite number of interactions. all “things” interact with all other “things” to greater or lesser extents, and it is the sum of these extents which gives a “thing” its qualities. this is true at all scales, from quantum to galactic, and at both the physical and mental levels. the world as humans understand it is the product of interaction between external forms with external sense bases, then between internal formations with internal perceptions. this i have previously called “contact,” after buddhist terminology, but it is more simply framed as “interactivity.”
