A French childhood: Di-Gata the Defenders

Nationality: Canadia and Luxembourg coproduction - now that's a combination you do not see very often!

This show marked my young mind due to one specific detail. I forgot all about the characters, plots, even the artstyle of the show I forgot about - but I never forgot the runes and the sigils. Them stayed imprinted in my mind ; they were in fact the very reason I watched the show in the first place, and I kept drawing them on sheets of paper.

Most importantly, I would have NEVER remembered the name of this cartoon if it wasn't for the fact I got a cereal-box collectible linked to it, a precious toy I still have to this bear and which bears the "Di-Gata" trademark.

Di-Gata Headcanons

I've seen people doing this around and I want to get back into tumblr so.. Figured I'd share some of mine!

- Mel is gay or at least bi, which is why her relationship with the guys never really work. But she was so sheltered growing up she never had the opportunity really to explore or realize how she felt

- Adam is a compulsive liar and kleptomaniac. Because of the way he grew up and thieving almost his entire life he can't stop. He has to constantly try and remember his lies to keep it all straight, as well as trying to stop himself from impulsive stealing to keep the others trust.

- Erik is a giant insomniac and also a genius. His mind never stops and keeps him up throughout the night working on projects. He's also a lot more serious than he lets on at times

- Seth because of their sheltered upbringing doesn't understand the struggle someone like Adam has with his thieving or lying. They often get into arguments about this but they're both so different they can't see anything from the others point of view.

- Erik is giant pan and Adam is a chaotic Bi, Seth is the straightest boy you can find

- Kara is gender fluid to some degree, the older she gets the more she realizes her gender switches from time to time but struggles to accept herself

These are random and may not fit the way others see them but I also imagine the universe a lot different than most.

Midnight thoughts

Ever get that random burst of nostalgia about shows you grew up with but they never really bloomed into a fandom like other shows. Tonight's list consist of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers Di-Gata Defenders Monster Allergy If anyone recognizes theses feel free to message me about them. These were cool cartoons that I don't think get enough love.
