09/20 + Disturbing Video (Cont.)
Another family member has been targeted. This time? Dia King.
The message with her video; 'Enjoy movie night'
Please watch the following at your own risk.
"And… we’re rolling." The voice behind the camera spoke as if he was filming a hard-hitting documentary, as opposed to… whatever this was. You could hear a man telling the end of a joke in the background, gaining himself a few chuckles. Another voice closer to the camera said "oh, so he wasn’t talking about you?" which raised more laughs. The camera focused onto a parking lot. Whoever was holding the camera was in a car — more like a van, actually. He was being careful not to point the camera into the van, so it was impossible to tell how many people were there.
The laughs and ribbing stopped abruptly, and a muffled female voice could be heard outside the car. Without any kind of vocal command, doors opened and the man holding the camera was out of the van, with the sound of shoes hitting the ground behind him.
The camera turned up to face a small brunette on the other side of a row of cars, on the phone. “Oh! And if you don’t call me back and tell me what you want for dinner in the next half hour, I’m making lasagna.” Dia hung up and turned to shove it in her purse, but she didn’t get the chance. Several men dressed in dark clothes threaded seamlessly through the parked cars. One of them grabbed her from behind, one arm across her chest and the other hand on her mouth. Green eyes grew wide and the phone fell to the pavement. She struggled for a split second, then instinct kicked in when the guy who grabbed her started dragging her back to the van. Without giving him a chance to realize what she was doing, she slammed her elbow as hard as she could into the man’s stomach, causing him to cry out both in pain and surprise. As soon as his grip loosened, she ripped herself away and spun to face him, her gun already out of the holster strapped to her thigh under her dress and pointed at his chest. Before she got a chance to pull the trigger, two more men were grabbing her elbows, one with his other hand over her mouth and one grabbing for the gun. Dia screamed against the man’s hand, struggling to get free. After a moment, the gun fired, followed immediately by a scream of pain.
”FUCK! MY FUCKING FOOT FUCK!!” The camera didn’t move, but in the corner, the man who’d initially grabbed her was struggling to stay upright.
"Fuck this." Another voice said. A fifth man approached Dia and the two holding her from behind, and used something that couldn’t be made out on the camera to hit her on the back of the head. The two men holding Dia let her fall unconscious to the pavement, the gun landing next to her phone. "Get the bitch in the car."
Then, the screen went black.
The Exchange + 06/06
Both Mia and Dia were stolen from their respective families for different reasons, so it's time they are properly returned before things are taken too far.
Scarlett sighed for the fifth time that car ride as she made her way towards the predetermined spot that Scarlett had texted Zach to meet her with Mia. She silently looked over to the girl next to her, eyeing all of the wounds that had been inflicted upon her by her own brother and quickly averted them back to the road. Finding the warehouse he'd been keeping her in was a little bit of extra effort, but once she got a 'hold' on the situation, it poured out easier than ice cream in ninety degree weather. Stopping the car once she'd arrived, she turned to Dia, her eyes narrowing before she opened her mouth to speak. "Don't try to pull any shit with me. Once I see that Zach actually has Mia, I'll bring you over to him and we'll trade." She paused, setting her mouth angrily as she thought over the fact that she was betraying her one sibling to save the other. "And don't think that I'm doing this for you, or the rest of your stupid family. I'm doing it for my sister." Quickly climbing out of the car, she jogged to the passenger side and opened the door, carelessly grabbing a hold of her and yanking her from her seat so that she could lock the car behind her and walk to the bench they were supposed to meet at
Dia kept her eyes fixed on the window in front of her, contemplating once again her odds of success if she tried to jump out of the car while it was moving. And once again, she decided that probably wasn't such a great idea. But she relaxed a little bit when Scarlett stopped the car and she was able to see that she wasn't about to be thrown into the ocean. "Fine," she said simply in response. She had gotten really good at one-word answers over the past week, because those seemed to get her in less trouble than mouthing off. But she couldn't help but let out a cry of pain when Scarlett grabbed her broken wrist. "Watch it!" she snapped, instinctively jerking away from the blonde.
Zach 's truck rolled into the parking lot that was close to their meeting spot. He could already see Scarlett and Dia approaching and his features tightened into a scowl when he saw the damage that had been done to this little cousin. Grabbing Mia by the arm, he stepped out from the drivers side and tugged her along, forcing her to slide out behind him. He yanked her close to him, giving a quick nod toward the other two girls, "You see that? See what he did to her?" Zach whispered harshly, the anger bubbling up into his throat, "I want you to know that - not even for a fucking second - did it cross my mind to do anything even remotely close to that to you. I don't sink to that level." Finally, he began walking toward Scarlett and Dia with Mia in tow, "You tell that fucking brother of yours I am going to destroy him."
Mia crossed her arms tightly over her chest, keeping herself as far away from the driver as possible. As the truck pulled into the parking lot, Mia was slightly surprised to see Scarlett standing there with Dia. She had little time to react before Zach gripped her arm, yanking her from the truck. She glared at him as he yanked her again, listening to his words intently. Rolling her eyes, Mia looked up to see Dia, guilt twisting in her stomach as she saw the state she was in. Of course, Mia refused to let any of that show as she shot a glance back over at Zach, "You don't know shit about my brother," she said back, before turning her attention back to the path in front of her.
Scarlett looked at Mia as she jerked away from her, yelling at her to watch it. Part of her was tempted to grab on to her even tighter just for being who she was, but another part of her told her not to. That party that still bothered her in the back of her mind that the things she did were wrong, that she was better than that, that she could be that girl she was so long ago when Trevor was no longer in the picture. But the thought seemed impossible and she instead turned her attention to the two new figures who had showed up in the parking lot. Relief briefly washed over her when she saw that Mia was still in good health and good form, a smile forming on her lips before she turned to Dia in all seriousness. "Walk" She spoke sternly, emphasizing that she should walk and not run to her savior. You could never be too certain if someone was going to attempt to pull a fast one on you and keep their prisoner as well as acquire their fallen soldier. Walking swiftly to meet up with them, she eyed her sister again to make sure there weren't any small wounds or bruises she hadn't seen initially before turning to Zach. "Glad to see you didn't go back on your word. And look, I managed to bring her back within the time limit. Can I have my prize?"
Dia scowled at Scarlett until she saw Zach, then she broke into a smile. She was about to tear away from Scarlett and run to him when she was very specifically told not to. She tore her eyes away from her cousin to glare at the blonde. "Let me go, or I swear to god, I will return the black eye you gave me," she growled. The difference between this one and the threats she'd made Trevor for the past week was that she was fully prepared to carry this one out if it meant getting to Zach, and Trevor may have broken one wrist, but her right arm was still perfectly intact.
Zach rolled his eyes at Scarlett, "Shut the fuck up. Seriously, shut the fuck up. You lot are in the wrong here and if I see you again I will fucking shoot you on the spot. Do you understand me?" He hissed in her direction, pulling Mia against his side as he wrapped an arm around her waist, "You're gonna let Dia walk toward the truck because you are the ones who took her, you'll be the one to let her go first." A smile flashed across his face as his eyes crawled up Scarlett's form, "Spare us and please, for once, don't be a dumb, loud-mouthed bitch." His smile turned genuine when he glanced over at Dia, arcing his neck back toward his ride, "Go on, D."
Mia watched Dia threaten Scarlett, genuinely shocked that Scarlett didn't immediately shove the girl into the ground or something similar as payback. She figured since Dia was now in sight, it meant that the two could simply switch places and they could move on with their lives. Zach's arm pulling her in set in the realization that wasn't the case. Struggling in his grip, Mia glared at him, "Let me go," she shouted, "You see you're fucking cousin, just let me fucking go." Truthfully, Mia was fed up with this entire situation. At this point, she just wanted to leave with Scarlett, go home and sleep. She was irritated, tired, and truly ready to risk breaking her own hand if it meant punching one of the King's in the face; specifically the one who seemed intent on leaving a bruise on her hip.
Scarlett made a face at Dia's words, not caring if she actually ended up punching her or not. She knew how to take a punch, you had to when you had a father like the one her siblings had or else you'd just want to lay down and die every day of your life. Rolling her eyes away from her, she set her mouth in an agitated line listening to Zach's words. He wasn't even worth her explanation of how she hadn't even known that Dia was kidnapped until after learning about her own sister's disappearance. Or the explanation of how she didn't have to be doing this right now. She didn't have to be going behind her brother's back to give their cousin over to them. She could've easily come up with another way to manipulate the people around her so that she could find Mia on her own and bring her back home with her. But she wasn't, she was doing the right thing, something she seemed to have forgotten how to do long ago. Huffing, she stepped away from Dia, mockingly holding her hands up and smiling as if saying to him 'there she is, I've let her go' before resting her hands firmly on her hips. "Now would you get your fucking hands off my sister and let me take her home?"
Dia slowly backed away from Scarlett. She considered running straight to Zach, but he'd told her to go to the truck, and at this point, she really didn't have the energy to do things she wasn't told to do. Unconsciously rubbing her injured wrist, she smiled at Zach -- a real, genuine smile, with tears threatening to spill out of her eyes, as opposed to the backhanded, bitchy smiles she'd been shooting Trevor behind his back -- before walking toward the truck. "Oh, and Scarlett?" she asked, turning around. "Be sure to give Trev a big ole fuck you from me." She grinned and blew a kiss before climbing into the truck.
