Finished Shu's route in Dark Fate last night...
Was he always such a kiss monster or was I just mentally scarred from the first game?

Oh man, his route was a fucking emotional rollercoaster. Between him and Reiji fighting and Shu having to kill the leader of the Baboria clan because of Shin and Carla, to the ending where Reiji and Shu have a face to face confrontation and Shu steps up to be vampire king (such amazing character growth between those two). I genuinely really enjoyed it. I understand Reijis feelings a lot better now too. <33
