It stung to know that he has to leave in the first place but still it was something he had to do. Nothing to do with his ‘family’ in the yakuza and all to do with the circumstances of his biology. It came as such a shock to even him to find out that somewhere along the line there was demon blood in his ancestry. A dormant gene that chooses its fighter, but now Yusuke was nothing more than just a ticking time bomb because of this demonic blood. He’d lose minutes of his life because of his inability to control this newfound power and he’d be damned if he ever hurts Alyssa because of his own weakness.

“I promise, once I learn how t’ control this crap then we’ll go on one of those dates you’ve always wanted to go on, you know the extravagant ones.” The places she might want to go that was FAR above his pay grade. It was a promise in order to minimize the pain that she might feel for him leaving or perhaps it was a way to numb himself from this pain. 

Before he became misty eyes he gave his beloved his back and began to traverse down the road. Looking back slightly one last time. “I love you, princess.” Then finally he continued his journey until his silhouette was gone.

He froze, watching her as she moved into his personal space; his plastic fork dropping into the pasta salad he’d been eating. It took him a moment to even realize he’d dropped it, but he was able to retrieve it with not much of a mess clinging to it.

“Did you want something?” He asked, gathering up another bite on his fork and offering it to her, just in case that was what had her attention. “You can try it if you want to — it’s still nice and cold from the refrigerator.”

It’s normal to wonder how much she’s changed, right? You go a while without laying on memory foam, it’s bound to forget your shape, right? Maybe I’m worrying for nothing — I’m not that incompetent in the bedroom. There’s no way she would have forgotten how good it was.

“If I told you I will be gone for a few days would you trust that I’ll be back?” These days Yusuke had just not been himself whilst most days he was never the most enthusiastic student but he’s been more down whilst skipping even more than he usually did, this was probably because of the realization that Yusuke was not human..at least not completely. Then out of the blue he approached his beloved with a serious look on his face, the sadness gone but there was still the hit of a lost soul deep within his gaze. “Of course it means I’ll have t’ miss some school here and there..but I really need time to think.”
