Iriste shouldn’t be nervous, E’mrys was a good friend and Romeo’s beloved, he was by some means someone she considered a brother-in-law. If her invitation was to be rejected, she could find some assurance that it wouldn’t be harsh. So, she takes a breath, steeling her resolve. After all they’ve been through, it’s a little silly for her to be worried about rejection.
“E’mrys,” she began, oddly serious and somber before clearing her throat. “I have been meaning to ask you if you would be interested in joining the Free Company. I would like it if you did. I do consider you as part of Zenith, so it would make me happy and honored if you would be part of it officially.”
The question left him stunned, eyes wide and ears stuck at rapt attention. E'mrys had only the best impression of the Free Company Romeo was a part of thanks in no small part to his beloved's stories of it. And of course there was his friendship with Iriste herself to further that good impression. Despite that, however, he had never been confident enough to ask if he might join the group.
It was quite the surprise indeed.
Finally he laughed, a smile growing wide as his tail waved lightly back and forth. "I would be honored to join Zenith, Iriste! To be a part of something so important not just to Romeo but to you is... Well, wonderful." That was an understatement. E'mrys knew how important the Free Company was to Romeo, had often sat with a smile as his love talked about various deeds he did with them. And he trusted Iriste deeply.
