It's true that it was yesterday, but unfortunately I didn't manage to finish it in time, so I'm posting it today. Happy birthday, Silver!

Three reasons to love Silver

Notes: Had this in my drafts for like ever,

Straight to the point 

While everyone is normally cautious of Azul, Silver is not for better or worse. However, it only highlights how he takes what others say at face value. Which is more than likely due to his own actions. If he means something he will say it, there are no lies with Silver. 

We see this when he’s conversing with a fairy alongside Jade who’s in need of creating more translation bells. In the conversation Silver compliments the fairy honestly with how he feels about their creation of the translation bells. Of course, Jade believes it all to be sweet talk as Silver relentlessly is complimenting the fairy, but we soon learn it’s not the case. 

Honest work 

He’s a hard worker, so long as he’s awake. While others at school deem Silver as lazy, which makes sense. I mean he’s always seen asleep and it’s not as though his classmates understand why. It doesn’t take away from Silver not giving everything his best. 

We see this when he’s working alongside Kalim to repeat their assignment during their potion’s class. Or when Vil requested Silver’s help for the film studies club. 

He honestly gives it his all because that’s just the kind of guy Silver is. Even during his training with Sebek, Silver isn’t going easy on Sebek. 

He’s a little rough at times 

No seriously, like have you seen his battle voice lines. I think this aspect of Silver gets overlooked a lot, but I’m here to bring it more attention. As much of a prince Silver is, there’s a reason he got into NRC. He’s got a good heart and knows when it’s time to attack. Which is rare, but I love that about Silver. He will not hold back if you want to fight.

Silver was walking his usual route back to the Diasomnia dorm, dreading the moment he was going to walk through the doors and hear Sebek's screeching about how he fell asleep in a random place again and how he was failing at his job to protect the young master and all that Sebek says when he feels Lord Malleus was threatened. He sighed and trudged through the school, and was just passing Sam's shop when he heard a voice coming out from behind the store. It sounded vaguely familiar, even though it was high-pitched and soft and obviously belonged to a girl. 

There were two options for silver. Find out who the voice belonged to, or go back to the dorm and maybe lessen Sebek’s screaming a bit. 

Well, Sebek was going to scream as much as always, so it wouldn’t hurt to take a detour. He walked towards the sound of the voice, and as Silver neared, he heard..... crunching? He peeked around the corner cautiously, and saw the girl that the Dark Mirror announced had no magic, but Crowley had let her stay in that run-down dorm that he had found Lord Malleus in once. She was also had a bag of chips in her hand and was feeding several plump racoons them.

“Hello?”

Her head whipped around at him, surprised that somebody else was there, but the look of shock on her face soon faded and she turned back her head to the racoons. He looked at the girl curiously while she answered him.

“Oh, hi.”

A bit confused at her non-chalant response, he decided to ask about something he could relate to break the ice.

“So, do you like animals, too?”

“Oh, yeah. Lemme introduce you to the racoons.” She started pointing to to all of the trash panda’s in chronological order.

“Okay, so, Rodger lets me pet him, that’s Bernice, and she lays on the food because she’s a fat bitch and doesn’t want anyone else to have it.” She turned back towards Rodger and went “Hey, Rodger, hey buddy, don’t worry about it!” as she fed him a chip. When she was done feeding trash panda #1 the chip,the girl turned and pointed at the third one. “That’s Penelope, and she’s always trying to steal food from Bernice, but Bernice deserves it, and that’s” she looked up and pointed to a racoon at least 10 feet away from all the others, “Veronica, she doesn’t trust me.”

Silver looked at the girl and just said “Okay.”

Despite canon stating Kalim & Silver are air-headed, well... It seems more to me that Silver is a hyper-aware dude controlling Sebek.

Like, I get Sebek being a simp is for comedic purposes + hints whatever fucked-upness he had suffered while growing up, but only showing us that is... kinda tiresome. There is a lot more to show about Silver and Sebek and reducing them to passionate fanatic & non-nonsense dude dynamic to avoid spoilers or highlight what we already know feels kinda disservice-y, man.
