When you first tell dice, he’s going to be shocked

his eyes would widen and his mouth would drop open

which would leave you terrified that he would be angry

but in a matter of seconds he would grin

and pull you in his arms tightly and twirl you around

then he would gasp and let you go

getting to his knees and holding your stomach in his hands

“DID I JUST HURT IT, IS IT OKAY?!”

he’s going to spend the entire 9 months waiting on you hand and foot

whatever you want, he’s going to get for you

he’d stock the fridge for you

and would always be asking if you need anything at all

even if you jokingly say you want a new car

he’s going to go to an underground betting ring

and bet his life

only to come back with a brand new sports car for you

which he then loses the next day of course

he wouldn’t want you to work

but if you insisted, he would call you three times a day just to ask if you’re doing okay

at first, he doesn’t understand how emotional you get

and it freaks him out

because he’ll watch you go through a range of emotions within a few days

but throughout the months he’ll learn

he’s terrified that he’d be a bad father

so he tries to lighten up on the gambling because he wants to be a good role model for the child

but it is an addiction and so he’s determined to work long term to cut down on the gambling

honestly it’s your pregnancy that makes him see the danger

 sometimes when he comes home late at night and you’re already sleeping

he’ll put his hand on your stomach just to feel the baby kick or move

and he’d get extremely sentimental

because this is a thing that he helped to make

overall it would be a totally surreal experience for him and he would be so excited and nervous and thrilled

Dice is gonna think you’re the most precious thing on earth

whenever you get back from work

or he sees you for the first time that day

he’s going to bear hug you and twirl you around in a circle

he loves picking you up in his arms just in general

and if you’re around his friends or acquaintances

and they mention that you’re cute or that you look pretty that day

he’s going to grab you in one arm and while you cling to him

he’s going to growl at the person and tell them you’re his

(like that meme where that guy is clinging to that girl that’s pointing to another girl)

if he wants to go somewhere but you disagree

he’s gonna pick you up and toss you over his shoulder, carrying you to the location he wants to go

he loves playing games with you - whether that’s board games or video games or anything else

since you’re both energetic, everything becomes a competition and the games are much more fun

he loves telling you about his newest crazy ideas

and will excitedly go on and on about how much money he won/lost that night at the casino

the two of you drive gentaro absolutely insane

and you and dice secretly love to watch him get mad

but of course, as soon as he threatens to pull out his hypmic

dice will literally pick you up and run out of the room

since you’re so small, he would always feel the need to protect you

and no matter where you are, he would want to hold your hand

or walk closely next to you so that he can be with you at all times

sometimes he’ll bring you to the casino

and tell you that you’re his little good luck charm

and the two of you will run around playing all the different betting games

god forbid you win something

because the moment you do, both of you will be screaming and shouting

and hugging each other while he sobs on your shoulder

about how you’re the greatest thing to ever happen to him

and then he’d spend all the money on food that night

Ah yes, more angst <3 This low-key turned into a scenario at the end?? Which I may write out fully if I have time later! I wish I had more time to write, ugh I want to write this fic so badly TT__TT

When you first fall for dice, you are in love with his free spirited personality

he’s spontaneous and takes you on all sorts of crazy adventures

you definitely know about the gambling

but over the course of your relationship, you’ll begin to see just how bad gambling is for dice

he comes home extremely late

or not at all

he’s out until the early morning hours and sleeps in well past when you’re leaving to go to work/school

and because of this, you spend less and less time with dice

unless it’s time specifically set aside

but even this time is noticeably less

because he’s beginning to get more and more addicted to gambling

since it truly is an addiction, he’s going to need help

you’ll try to bring it up to him, propose going to group therapy

or even just seeing someone he can talk to 

but he’s going to shoot you down almost immediately

he says he doesn’t need help

that he’s been fine by himself up until now 

so he doesn’t need anyone else’s help

and this might even cause a rift between the two of you

you see him bet everything and anything and it begins to scare you

he’s bet the shared apartment before as well as your shared car

he’s bet himself hundreds of times and you hate it more than anything

how much longer until he bets the cat? or the dog?

or you?

one night he would come home drunk, wearing nothing but his underwear

and you would confront him about it angrily

you’d beg him to go to the casino less 

tell him that you’ll help him get through everything

and finally beat this addiction once and for all

but he say that this is just who he is and that gambling is the only thing that makes him feel alive

that gambling is the only thing he’s ever truly loved

you’d take a step back and ask if that’s really how little you meant to him

if he really loved gambling more than he loved you

you would storm out and go stay at a friends for a while

leaving dice to make the final decision of what is more important

Why yes, indeed I do

okay, i strongly headcanon that the relationship probably started like this

you were just casually walking through town to get to your job

when you spot Dice sitting outside the restaurant you work at literally sobbing

so of course, you ask if he’s okay

and he makes up this story that his house was just foreclosed, and he got fired, and his dog ran away, and he just wants a little bit of food

so of course, you tell him to come inside

and as you get ready for your shift, you buy him a bowl of ramen 

and from that moment on, he’s just madly in love with you

because six of your other co-workers had already told him to take a hike

but you actually stopped to help him out

also omg yes food is the way to dice’s heart

ANYWAYS

so the actual relationship itself is a complete and total whirlwind

you never know where he is or what he’s doing

but whenever you get home, he’ll be there with you

he takes you on the most random, crazy dates

that almost always end up in the two of you getting chased by the cops

but its all in good fun

he loves to tease you and will always pick on you

but he’s not doing it to be mean, he just loves to see your pouting face

he’d be a pretty protective boyfriend, but not over the top about it

he’s not the biggest cuddle lover, but if you want to then he’ll give in

he treats you like an angel and is 100% your hype man

you’ve brought him to group therapy, taken him to different areas of the city that could be more fun

but he is a gambler at heart so he’s never going to give it  up 100%
