"Even when I'm far away, I carry you all with me,
A rose pendant for the Enchanted Forest
Golden kelp earrings for the Coral Reef
A graveglow necklace for the Shadow Stage
A planet ring for the Cosmic Solarium"
Shiny clickclacks my friend got me for my birthday because they reminded her of my character! ;-; Ignore the little marks in the table...a lot of these are from it getting repeatedly hit with the sharp corners of metal dice sets, haha.
A scattering of Astrophelle’s dice! All very sparkly, like her. The blue-green set I purchased when hanging out with EuroAtlantis’ bard-player in London, the rainbow set was a gift from my mum (and the d20 killed my last character, so I need to be wary...); the amber glitter set used to be for Nerin, and the purple borealis set I purchased a month or so back especially for Astrophelle.
Astrophelle’s skin colour is primarily deep blue, but she has nebulae-like swirls of other colours all over her body, so having so many different glittery dice types reflects that perfectly.
The two big d6 and the little red d6 near them were a gift from a dice collector, when I left my old job in London to return to NZ. <3 I love them so much. I am a sucker for sparkly dice and now am playing a Very Sparkly Character who they are perfect for, yay!
So the biggest D&D group I've ever DMed has been running for a year as of August, making it also the longest campaign I’ve run. I didn’t really do anything to mark the occasion but, as a belated “Happy Anniversary, guys!”, here are some themed diceseses.
(I could have used rainbows in almost all the sets, but didn’t want to reuse the same dice too many times. Explanations below the cut.)
Anthony Gale (human bard)- red, white and blue for the homeland of which the party has never heard. White also matches Draechydian Tyzol, the white dragonborn he has somehow formed a relationship with after accidentally poisoning her; and of course the draconic d20 represents the same dragonborn.
Basil Greenpatch (halfling rogue)- darker colours, but with a heart of gold! Spiders for his constant attempts to tame local wildlife, green for his name and for the morally dubious druidic halfling he let slip away, sparkles of gold for both his love of physical gold and his not-so-well-hidden nicer tendencies.
Khamet (human paladin)- yellow and blue for his own colours, a lil’ rainbow for being our resident Chaotic Bi and because I feel he’d appreciate rainbows, gold and white for the magic granted by a deity, and red for demons.
Meallan Lynxheart (firbolg warlock)- soft greens and pinks for the natural world and the fey. White for his beloved Aytal’s fur. Red for eldritch blast.
Talsindra “Tally” (drow monk)- black for an unhappy past, hemmed in by the beautiful elemental colours of her chosen discipline.
Amani (half-elf sorcerer)- Amani was a tricky one because I don’t have any dice sets in their most prominent colour, silver. Rainbow for LGBTQIA+. Blues for their attire, and white + the sparkles to represent their magic and shininess in the absence of actual silver dice. A cutie bat because bats are associated with shadows.
Thanks, guys, for all the funny-stuff and the drama-stuff. <3 Here’s to many more adventures!
Here are some dice sets! The first picture is a bit squished- oh noes! I should have spread them out more.
I just wanted to share dice looking pretty and shiny in the sun. These are the dice I use for my drow arcane trickster (Zazz) and my half-orc nature cleric (Ursh)!
(I want ‘spell thief’ very badly but don’t think we’ll ever play that far. >.>)
