Deus ex Machinas of Elsword
1. Diceon ores
According to Hugo, the Alchemist of Elysion:
You know, right? What Diceon ores are... They are amazing. El energy, you can save... also... as much as you want... you can amplify....And you can supply the Diceon energy remotely. It can make the Nasod soldiers stand up again and again, no matter how many times they are attacked, for however long you want them to.
According to Ain when he first encountered these ores:
Interesting. If there's a way to store enough El energy into the ore, then you can produce near-limitless El energy without the El.
These shits can store vast amount of El energy AND AMPLIFY THEM. What in the actual fuck
And these are ORES, and not some God-given holy gemstone. THEY ARE LITERALLY DIGGING IT UP FROM THE GROUND.
It is with this Deus ex Machina of an ore that Solace hatches a plan to replace the Giant El so that he can create a world where nobody has to rely on the El and sacrifice our loved ones.
He succeeds in creating a giant Diceon stone that can replicate the same wave pattern of the original Giant El before its explosion.
REPLICATE SAME WAVE PATTERN OF THE ORIGINAL GIANT EL
Giant El: Given by a fkng Goddess
Diceon Stone: Dug up from the ground
???????
2. Ain the Plot hole Eraser
Not exactly sure if he is a Deus ex Machina but the manner and timing of his arrival into the game seems to suggest that he was born just to tie loose ends and fill the plot holes... (also used to serve up some tear-jerking moments that are severely lacking in the game) So coming up with a new character that can allow the game to say “HA! Jokes on you! Because! Ain was in the game ALL along! And! the plot holes! Never really existed in the first place!”... was a stroke of genius. If KOG had to fix all the plot holes without this Deus ex Machina, then they would’ve had to go all the way back to the beginning and change. every. detail. of. all 10 11 character’s epic quests and lines and voice overs.
I mean still, I don’t think he qualifies as a Deus ex Machina in terms of technical definition of it but fuck I’m going to talk about it anyway. He does some serious things that other normal players can’t do (singlehandedly closing dimensional rift, erasing people’s memories for the convenience of the plot for example) and calling it “well he can do that cuz he has god given power cuz god op”... is enough for me to call him a Deus ex Machina (and how he subsequently becomes weaker so that he’ll be more equal to other non-godly characters is hilarious lmao).
Plot holes Ain have erased so far:
He mentions Priestess of Earth in Velder. He’s the first one in the game to notice she’s missing. Before Ain’s release, Artea, the Priestess of Earth was suddenly mentioned in Lanox out of nowhere along with other Priestesses.
And people were like, wait, there was El of Earth in Velder???
He mentions the El of Earth in Velder. He’s also the first one to notice it’s corrupted and being used to maintain the dimensional rift that connects the demon world to Elrios.
He’s the one who supposedly found the dimensional rift in Velder and singlehandedly closed it, thereby tying that loose end.
With his release, Elsword suddenly has a strong desire to restore the El from the beginning.
Originally, the entire crew didn’t even realize she was a living breathing person until they reached Hamel and learned that the reason Ran kidnapped the Priestess of Water was to find out the prophecy to the Lady of El, revealing her current location. That’s when the El Search Party realized they have a bigger fish to fry than to just simply recover Ruben’s El Shard and “stop the demons” from invading Elrios.
With his release, Ara and Chung are suddenly very negative about Lu and Ciel joining their team, because of their history with demons.
Before Ain, they were pretty meh about it.
3. The slave owners who chased after Add and made him conveniently fall into the ruins of Ancient Nasod knowledge
Okay, let’s face it, if Add didn’t fall into the ruins then he wouldn’t have even be able to come to present day Elrios or even survive for that matter...
What did you think? Agree or disagree? Have I missed anything? What are your thoughts? Things I wanted to include but couldn’t because of insufficient data/evidence and the fact that more could be explained with upcoming updates were Rose, and the demons that spewed out in her dimension which prompted the Imperial Princess to order Rose to come to Elrios.
