My favorite Irish Pub. Dingle, Ireland
The Art of Love: The Austrian Way.
On Friday night, Kevin and I went out with some people he knew from back home who were visiting from France. Well, really, he only knew the one girl, but she brought friends. They were pretty chill people. We decided to take them to the bar we went to on St. Patty's day that we loved. None of us had looked at the name, so we decided to head over to the area and go from there.
We found it. The name of the place is Dick Mack's. I'm not sure how we all missed that. We headed inside and grabbed a table. As we were talking, we came to realize that this was a very local place. We were the only ones speaking anything but German and we definitely stuck out. At one point, a couple drunk guys came over to talk to us. One said, "You guys are foreign" and asked where we're from. As soon as we said the United States, he started singing a bunch of American music. The highlight was when we got half the bar to sing Wonderwall.
One of the drunk guys kept popping back in throughout the night, at one point telling me that he was attracted to me because of my green hair. While holding my hand.
At around 3 in the morning, they were closing off the room we were sitting in for cleaning. We decided to leave, but the Austrian guy didn't seem to understand that the poor guy was trying to close the room off to clean it. So I said to him in German, "We have to go. Come on." That was a mistake. All of a sudden he was super interested. He asked me in German, "Where do you live?" and I just kept saying no. Finally he changed his question to "Where are you going?" I told him I was going home. He asked if he could go home with me. I said very firmly and in German that I was going home alone. But I gave him a little wave as I walked out the door and he blew kisses.
All in all, it was a good night. I think I might have found my new favorite bar in Vienna.
