Hi, can I ask what tablet you use and what program? (it looks like sai??) also do you have any tips for digital art beginners? sorry for bothering you and thank you.

I use a Bamboo Wacom tablet! Since I’m on a Mac computer, I can’t get Sai, so in my latest speedpaints I was using Manga Studio 5. However, often times I use Photoshop CS6.

Some Tips? Well…. I think a big thing is that you have to mess around and doodle/sketch a lot digitally. Get used to a tablet and the differences between digital verses traditional. It’s good to sketch a lot and practice as much as you can so that your hand will be used to the pen pressure and the fine tuning of your tablet.

It’s also important to learn whatever program you’re interested in using. Try looking at a few tutorials or watching a few speedpaints to get inspired by whatever program they’re using. The only way to really learn a program like Photoshop CS6 or Manga Studio 5 is to learn through trial and error, so again the practicing and the messing around is important.

It’s also important to not be hard on yourself. I remember the first few times I tried to draw digitally, I got frustrated at how daunting a new program was and how weird it was to draw on a tablet. You have to push past those early frustrations and embrace the fact you’re a beginner. As a beginner, you can only improve! So don’t worry about not being good or not liking what you’re making.
