Need more slowburn fics where dick is a little mean to jason… like dick was mean to robin!jason, but i imagine he wont just immediately do a complete 180 when red hood emerged… something something like… him still having lingering bitterness and prejudices towards jay and still acts a bit rude and mean to him but slowly getting proven wrong about jason…and falling in love in the process..

need jay to be so frustrated to the point of tears that dick is so fucking mean to him but at the same time just won’t leave him alone.. it didn’t catch him at all that dick is falling in love with him, jason just thinks dick is doing this to torment him.

Thinking of mafia au dickjay… where the waynes are high functioning psychopaths and sociopaths.. they’re all unhinged and messed up... Teenager dick rebelling to bruce who wants to spread his own wings, they fought really hard and to appease the young man, bruce gifted him the little rascal who tried to steal his tires.

Dick grew attached to jason really fast, seeing him as a cute little puppy pet. There’s lots of grooming involved but when they both grew up, they ended up becoming codependent to each other. Dick became the second in command for bruce and jason is the violent, rabid enforcer. (There’s of course tim and damian too, but im focusing on dickjay here-)

Dick is this charismatic yet deadly person, handling most of bruce’s nightclubs and other territories. He’s charming and always look well put, able to secure deals left and right. He may seem like friendly and sociable, but everyone knows not to cross him. The smile hides a thousand grotesque deaths, after all.

Jason is a loose cannon, doing whatever he wants whenever he wants. He’s explosive, unpredictable, and unhinged with blood, killing people left and right in the most grotesque way possible and finding delight in it. He’s the guy bruce sends if he wants to send a message. He’s loud, mouthy, and bratty. Not even bruce could really tell him what to do. (“Jason, take care of this guy.” “Eeh… nah. Don’t wanna”)

Except dick, of course.

Dick, who took care of him since he was taken in by bruce. Dick, who taught him anything and everything. Dick, who always been at his side for the past 10 years. Dick, who slept with him for the past 10 years and loved him with all he had.

And dick loved having jason around, the high of having that much control over someone. And he had developed a completely crazy attachment to his little pup, a thick and unhealthy concoction of love and possession. In his eyes, jason is this cute little puppy who sometimes chew and hide your shoes, but he’s completely adorable so it’s fine.

So yes, jason might be crazy and feral but when dick’s around? He turns into the most pathetic, whiny little pup. Scrambling to dick’s lap to complain and whine about his booboos (light bruises that he got in retaliation from drowning someone-) like a petulant toddler. Imagine this huge, bloodied man, just whining on dick’s lap while dick totally enables it, coddling and cooing at him, stroking his hair and peppering his face with kisses…

Jason: dickie, look.. it hurts so much. This here, and here (pointing to two light bruises, giving his best puppy eyes, the blood of 10 people he killed completely drenching him)

Dick: aww.. here, let me see.. oh, my good boy…. Big brother will kiss it better yeah?

Tim: ew

Jason: FUCK OFF, WHO THE FUCK INVITED YOU?! (Then immediately turns to dick again) i did so good right? Can i have a kiss?

((Sorry if this doesn’t make sense.. I just love the image of big bloodied jason being a pathetic whiny bitch at dick’s lap okaayy… its so hot and cute… plus the pet play and grooming…))

Awww poor Jay. Before he died he was the perfect pretty image of classic modern omega and when he came back his ancestor genes got activated by the Lazarus Pit and he became a deadly gorgeous omega from primal times unknowingly activating alpha hindbrains. He knows he’s no longer what a marriageable omega looks like, the kind on runways and brought to galas, instead he’s the sort of omega in dirty magazines alphas secretly hide from their mates. Not that it makes him feel any better when Jason finds out. Hating himself cuz he thinks he’s undesirable then hating himself because he’s not worth more than being a piece of hot ass. :(

Then there’s Dick who happens to overhear a group of alphas having a graphic locker room discussion about Jason…

He’s not desirable, its whatever. His personality isn’t desirable, his body isn’t desirable, he tries not to think about it. He pretends he doesn’t care… but when he overhears some low life alphas talks about his build like some porn stereotypes…… he just ends up hating himself more….. he curled in more, tries to make himself smaller, maybe even tries to eat less?🤔 because if he has the height by default, he can probably try to lessen the weight part so his tits and thighs doesn’t fill up that much, right?

when dick tried to comfort him, jason was just in denial about it, scoffing and belittling himself, pushing dick away.

Even when dick gently laid jason down, murmuring praises and gently caressing and kissing every part of him, jason still doesn’t believe it.

But at least dick does, and he’ll try his hardest so jason would believe it too one day.

Thinking of goldfish baby getting into a fight in kindergarten because the other kid had insulted his mama, calling him “ugly” and “looks weird” Baby punched the boy until he cried. Its true, though. Jason doesn’t look like a typical omega, even for the male ones. Too big, too rough. It’s understandable that a kid would think like that of him. However, baby doesn’t care about society’s omega beauty standard. He doesn’t understand! He’s five and all he knows is that his mama is the prettiest person in the whole world!

Dick was called in because jason was away in another city right now. Dick immediately told baby to apologize, which he did begrudgingly. However, before they could leave the scene, the other boy’s father muttered under his breath about “unruly, defective omegas have unruly pups.”

It took everything in dick’s power to not beat the man to a pulp right then and there. This is a kindergarten after all and his pup is watching, he needs to give a good example. So he talked the other alpha down, anger barely contained as he made his point. Once he got his point across, he took baby home with him.

At home, dick explained how to deal with these sort of things not through violence. Baby is frustrated because he’s upset that someone is being mean to his mama, but ultimately understands. Dick praised him, asking baby to not talk about this to jason because knowing jason, he would overthink this to the point of self deprecation. Jason had always been insecure about his second gender and his physique, and dick had just barely managed to help jason to love himself. He couldn’t let this get his self confidence to backtrack.

So when jason comes back home later that night, both the alpha and the pup immediately clings to him like a very sticky starfish! Jason almost fell twice while the two menaces just laugh and keep peppering him with kisses.

Jason stubbornly kept to the kitchen, intent on doing some quick baking since he got some really good fresh ingredients. Baby was excited, he loooves when jason bakes something! Cue to jason baking while baby and dick just stares at him from the kitchen counter with a very stupid identical dopey smile.

Jason: “…what?”

Dick: “nothing, it’s just that.. mama is so pretty, isn’t he?”

Baby: “the prettiest in the whoole wooorld!!”

Jason could only stammer out a “what nonsense are you two up to now-“ with a bright flush on his neck and ears.

I promised i’d share more dickjay aus that my brain cooked up…. So, figure skater x hockey player dickjay, anyone..??👀

(i dont have any knowledge regarding these two things so apologies in advance if something is wrong or doesn’t make sense!) also this is super long so be prepared..!

Dick would be a famous figure skater, something like yuzuru hanyu! While bruce himself would be more of a mentor or sponsor?🤔 i dont really know the specifics, but he is well known to take in and train young talents.

Enter jason, a kid bruce randomly saw during one cold winter night, skating on the frozen lake with rackety makeshift ice skates. He looked like he was having so much fun and bruce has a trained eye on potential talents. So he goes up to the kid, eager to introduce himself and maybe get the kid on his program. Only for jason to punch him in the stomach and skate away, screaming “i don’t talk to creepy strangers!!”

Bruce was super amused since then, trying his hardest to get jason to talk to him as if it became his sole mission to recruit this kid. It was on the fourth try that jason finally caved and listened to what the older man had to say. Jason was blown away, eyes twinkling in excitement before it immediately dies down. “I don’t have money for that kinda stuffs.” He’d grumble. But money was never a problem for bruce, he just wants to see young talents develop the skills they have deep down, and get the attention they deserve.

Bruce tried to convince jason but the kid was so sure it’s a scam, because no one is that kind. Not really. So he just asked jason to stop by sometimes and try it out when he’s around the area.

Jason came by a week after that, hesitant and skittish like a cornered animal. Bruce welcomed him but it was the sight of the Dick Grayson in training that made the boy vibrate in excitement. He couldn’t believe it! Dick grayson in the flesh! Doing his training routine in front of him!

It wasn’t hard to convince jason after that. He’d come by thrice a week, sometimes just to watch dick and sometimes to train too. He still declined the program though, he always insisted he doesn’t have the money for it no matter how many times Bruce insisted there’s no need for it. He was just happy to be skating, especially with dick’s guiding hands teaching him. Sometimes dick even would ask him to do a pair routine, those were Jason’s most favorite days!

But of course the happiness didn’t last. It never was when it comes to Jason’s life. Willis found out. And extremely angry at that. Forbidding jason to go to those sort of things anymore and yelling how figure skating is for sissies. And how jason should be embarrassed at himself. The boy just hung his head, taking the verbal abuse as willis berated him for hours. Safe to say he never returned after that.

Bruce found out after jay didn’t come by for months. Once he found out, he immediately went to meet willis and persuaded him to let jason play by saying that jason could make money from this (since willis only cares about money). Willis finally relented with one condition that jason should not be a figure skater because it’s an embarrassment for him. So they decided to go with hockey instead.

Bruce agreed even though he doesn’t have the necessary equipment nor experience about hockey, but he can’t let jason go just like that. The boy deserves so much and bruce is intent on making it happen. So he called up Talia, asked her to take in jason (since i thought it’d be pretty fun for the league of assassin to be hockey players/sponsor instead😂)

Talia agreed and Jason started his training immediately. It was harsh, but jason is a natural on ice and it became very obvious very quickly that this boy has the talent and the drive to make it big. Jason never took it for granted too, trying his best to show bruce that he wasn’t making a mistake.

However, every few months he visits the waynes rink, his eyes would stare wistfully at Dick. Who now have a new protege called Tim. They were beautiful on ice and jason always felt his heart clench in jealousy and hurt. He’s grateful for what bruce did for him, he really do. But it still feels painful to watch someone else live his dreams. Sometimes dick would asks him to join and each time jason would scoff and belittle himself.

Months passed just like that, jason had started getting into tournaments but bruce noticed how the boy always looks exhausted. It was only when jason had asked bruce if it’s alright for him to use the spare room in the rink that bruce found out that willis had disappeared. And in turn, rent wasn’t paid and jason was basically homeless. Bruce didn’t hesitate to offer the spare room in his manor instead.

This is where things get ✨messy✨ because now jason is sharing a roof with dick. The Dick Richard Grayson. The person that jason had idolized for years and practically has an embarrassing teenage crush on that never really died. Cue to awkward boners and accidentally seeing the other half naked around the house constantly. It got to the point of jason just locking himself in his room instead.

Dick however, thought of this as weird and even started to think that jason might be depressed instead. So one night, he asked jason to come with him to the practice rink. Jason hesitated but followed, curious what the older was trying to do. Once there, dick asked jason to practice with him.

Jason immediately scoffed again, saying how he really couldn’t, doesn’t know how to do it anymore. Dick managed to persuade him, asking jason to be his pair partner for practice routine. Jason calls dick out on it because really, dick hasn’t participated in pair tournaments for years now. But dick doesn’t care, he just pulled jason in with him.

Jason was clumsy at first before everything came back to him. His body moved naturally to dick’s movements, something that his 14 year old self often did with dick in this very rink. Jason hadn’t even realize when he started grinning and laughing, sweats glinting off his skin as he moved along to dick’s guidance. It was fun. And it felt freeing. Jason didn’t remember the last time he felt like this.

By the end of the routine, they were panting and laughing, faces so close to each other that their noses were practically touching. So really, it was only natural for them to close the distance, their lips touching for a messy kiss.

They kept their relationship lowkey after that. So years later when dick had won another trophy for his big tournament and immediately skated to where jason was standing, nobody expected him to crouch down and pulled out a ring. Jason said yes, obviously. But the crowd gasped and squealed when Dick pulled jason into his arms and carried him like a ✨bride✨around the rink.

Nobody would’ve ever thought that the figure skater could carry the 100kg hockey player so easily, nor do they would’ve ever guessed that the huge hockey player could blush so cutely like that🤭

I’m not sure if I’m remembering this right, but I think you mentioned that Dick wasn’t really around during Jason’s pregnancy. Do you think Jason had trouble bonding with the baby? It feels really difficult for him, even though it might come more naturally to other parents. Then when Dick finally meets the baby and everything seems to click so easily—like the baby is calmer with him—it could make Jason feel like he’ll never measure up or be good enough.

Even after nine months of pregnancy and going through the delivery, he still feels like he’s not enough, and here comes Dick who just steps in out of nowhere and bonds really well with the baby.

It leaves Jason with really mixed emotions—he’s frustrated and annoyed, wondering how the baby refuses to feed from him but is completely fine with Dick when HE is the one who carried the baby all these months. It feels unfair! But at the same time, he’s also relieved that the baby isn’t crying or being as fussy.

I wonder how all of that affected Jason emotionally towards himself, Dick, and the baby.

(And then of course in the future the baby ends up completely attached to mama anyway. He feels more happier with mama & papa being together)

Youre right!! The lore for baby jo is that dick wasn’t around during pregnancy! I never thought of jo immediately calming down with dick, but now that you mention it, it totally fits!!!

Jason totally struggled A LOT during early baby stage (~2 month), both physically and especially mentally. With this being omegaverse, pups are totally sensitive to their parent’s scent. And jason being so stressed would also totally stress the baby in turn! So when dick walked in with his fresh and bright, calming scent, i think it’s totally natural for baby to immediately calm down and clings to dick more!

This however, would make jason loathe himself more. Youre right, he would totally beat himself up for that… and might even get a simmering resentment for both dick and baby! (remember that during this stage jay was so deep with baby blues..) i think it’s totally a rough time for both jay and dick during this time, especially dick as he had to be the neutral core for his new family…

I think Jason’s head will only start to clear when baby was still crying despite being coddled by dick for hours that eventually they figured out that Jason’s distressed scent is what agitated baby in the first place. Dick would have to comfort jay, helping him to calm down first so that his scent would stop becoming so violent for their newborn’s senses…

It took an hour but once Jason’s scent was calmer, their pup immediately huffed a soft sigh.. nestling himself to mama’s deeper before a delighted squeak escaped him.. it made both dick and jay stare wide eyed because that was the first delighted sound that he ever made 💕

That was totally a wake up call for jay.. and ever since his scent stabilized, baby was aaalll over jay!! Taken from 002yb’s fic, the baby kept crying because he was asking for someone to help his mama!!🥹💗
