Dickphrodite is a tease of something that will come later.

Jason still couldn’t get used to the fact that the man he was in love with was Aphrodite, as in the Aphrodite, goddess of love, star of greek myths, and renaissance paintings. The history of how Aphrodite had ended up in a human form going by the name of “Dick” was extremely complicated. Dick had explained it to him a few different times and the simplest explanation was this: As the times changed, so did the gods.
He’d met Dick’s ex boyfriends and ex girlfriends, many of whom were also divine, and he’d also met many of Dick’s fans and been left wondering why Dick had chosen him. Dick could literally have anyone he wanted, but something had drawn him to Jason. Born and raised in Crime Alley, lucky to have gone to college, Jason.
Dick shifted and groaned, turning over to look at Jason. His hair was mussed and hanging over one sapphire blue eye, there were pillow creases on his flushed cheeks, and he still managed to take Jason’s breath away.
“I can hear you thinking from here,” he said as his leg found its way to Jason’s and rubbed up and down his shin. “After what we just did you should still be asleep. What’s on your mind?”
“You,” Jason said. “You’re always on my mind.”
Dick grinned, burying it in the pillow. “But there’s something stressing you out,” he said, reaching out and trailing fingers up and down Jason’s arm. His golden skin looked radiant, Jason couldn’t tell if Dick was actually glowing or if it was a trick of the light. “What’s wrong?”
“Why me, Dick?”
Dick sat up a little, a small frown on his face. “Lots of reasons,” he said. “We can hold a conversation together and I find that talking to you is genuinely fun and stimulating, I enjoy spending my time with you because you’re sensitive and kind, you’re extremely handsome, and you treat me well, but not like I’m someone or something that’s frightening or above you.”
He could feel heat in his face as Dick described all the things Jason was to him. Jason wasn’t just a good lay or someone that looked pretty at Dick’s side. Dick listed genuine reasons why he liked Jason. Part of him still couldn’t believe it though. “There have to be other people out there that can be that for you,” Jason said.
“There are,” Dick said. “And I can make people be those things for me, but it’s not genuine. It’s not real. What I have with you is real, and there’s a lot more power in authenticity than there is in forcing things. Trust me.”
“I do trust you, but-”
“You’re overthinking- I’m yours. That’s all I want to be.” Dick said, looking into Jason’s eyes. Looking into Dick’s eyes was like looking at a precious jewel or an endless deep blue pool that could consume him and he wouldn’t care.
“But what if a day comes when you don’t?” Jason asked.
“We can ask all these what ifs,” Dick said. “And we can spend all our time trying to figure out what’s going to happen, but when we do that, we focus more on what could be instead of what is. And you know what is, right now Jason?”
“What?” Jason asked, a small smile on his face.
“I love you. That’s now. That’s what’s important.”
“I love you too,” Jason whispered. “And I am yours as you are mine.”
Dick pulled him into a kiss then, and Jason was reminded of all the things that love could be.
