@dicodwell sent: a kiss on the lips.
James had been nice to her in a way that Rain had never experienced before. It was weird to get used to at first, but she had kind of gotten used to hiding in the basement of his house. She had her own little space down there, with blankets and things that James had given her to stay busy while he couldn’t be around. It was better than the room she’d had back at ACE, and it was comfortable. She still hadn’t told James about all of that. It seemed like too much to tell him.
Still, her favorite part of the day was when James came down to spend time with her. He made her stomach do flips, maybe her smile in a way that she didn’t even know was possible anymore. But instead of hiding in the basement, they were up in his room tonight, Rain sat on the bed close to him. They’d been watching a movie on his laptop together, but the attention hadn’t stayed on it for long.
There’s a moment where he looks at her, and she can feel her heart beating faster. This happens sometimes, and she never has an explanation for it. But then, he’s leaning in closer, and it takes her a second to recognize what’s happening. She’s seen in the movies before. Eyes flutter close the second that lips press against her own, and a hand goes up to his cheek, cupping it gently. Maybe asking him not to leave.
