Everyone's got a To-Do List.
You live your entire adult life with your to-do list, and You'll die with your to-do list, too. It will never end.
Have you ever noticed that when you cross off one item from your to-do list, two more items seem to appear? It's a never-ending task list. Lets be honest, it's boring. and you don't enjoy it that much.
The Did List
A Did List is a list of things that you have done already.
When I first tell people to write down the things that they did, they immediately say, "Well I already cross things off of my to-do list all the time! I love doing that!".
But crossing things off of your list is just not the same.
The Differences Between a Did List and a To-Do List are HUGE
Don't ignore these huge differences. A to-do list makes you want to do less things. It doesn't reward you.
Crossing off that item doesn't feel that great because a to-do list is about reduction. Don't hypnotize yourself into the feeling of reduction. A Did List makes you feel growth.
The Benefits of a Did List
You get to have a list of things you did each day to look back on.
Maybe you need an alibi, or just need help remembering which day you did something. You'll be surprised how often this comes in handy.
How long ago did I make that pasta sitting in the fridge? When did I talk to that client? Was that last leg-day workout on Wednesday or Tuesday? Now you'll know. It's the little things.
You feel like doing more with a did list. You want to make it bigger and bigger and bigger. It's exciting. It feels like a game. It's like you're playing an RPG game and completing quests. It motivates you.
It moves you. You go from the task completion zombie to someone that takes time to appreciate what they did in a day (instead of grumbling over the things that you didn't get done).
After all, appreciation means growth!
What Kind of Did-List Should I Use To Be Productive Though?
You can decide now how you want your did list to be.

Making a Did List of Only Tasks Done
Pros
Reward yourself only for completing tasks you deem productive, which encourages you to do that more.
Cons
You don't have a list of everything you did that day
You may become too focused on what is productive and what isn't.
Making a List of Everything You Did:
Pros
You don't have to think about if it's a "productive" task or not. You just write it in.
Get a nice dopamine boost every time you write something, which helps your brain operate better.
Makes you realize how much stuff you actually do (appreciating the little things is important).
Cons
You have to write in it constantly
Writing in daily tasks can make them feel even more repetitive (depends how that makes you feel personally)
Personally, I like to make a list of everything that I do. This helps me become aware of myself. I don't write in eating/oral care though. Thats pretty much my only rule.
This is a great addition to my "third person perspective" (I talk about this extensively in the Insanely Productive Hypnosis File Guide). It makes me aware when I am doing pointless activities that are not actually fulfilling me. Staring off into a screen somewhere? We've all been there. Way too much. Try out both styles and see which one you like more.
What App Should I Use for a Did List?
I was really surprised that an app for this does not exist yet, considering that hundreds of to-do list apps exist. As of time of writing, I am using Diaro. Or just use a paper notebook like the good old days.

- been such a long long long longggggggg time since i've done this but i realized how much better this made me feel so i want to do it again
💟 went to work early in the morning and did my usual stuff. cleaned the place before anything else and served some customers etc etc
💟 when i had nothing to do at work, i finished my stats and management assignmenttt, did some religion homework too but didn't finish it ( this is interesting since i didn't expect it to be so easy for me. i thought it would take up a lot of my energy but the flow was very smooth )
💟 after i got off work at around 3 pm, i did 2 loads of hand wash laundry ( IT WAS A LOT ) after a month or so of not doing any. ( it took me 4 hours 💀 but surprisingly i wasn't tired. most likely because i took frequent breaks. i watched wizard liz yt vids on my breaks bcs i love her so much )
💟 i rearranged my clothes cabinetttt. i wanted wanted wanted to do this for a long time now but i didn't seem to have the time nor the energy but now i finally did!!!! i also choose clothes that i will be donating soon since i want to have less things now
💟 i took a short shower, moisturized, and slipped into my fav comfy PJs <33 i always love this part of the day
💟 i ate dinner. AND IT WAS REAL FOOD. i enjoyed it so much, its actually been such a long time since i've eaten proper dinner so this was vv nice :')
💟 i had a massage earlier by this amazing electric massager while i was writing the half of this post. it was so relaxing i could feel my back bones rearranging and turning back to their original places
💟 NOW IM CURRENTLY HEREE writing this post, listening to perfect pair piano cover by sook on yt ( i omly discivered it earkier and ITS AMAZING i immediately fell inlove. check it out ) and so comfy under my sheets with my itadori stuffie and hot choco ☕ after this, im going to watch JJK and go to bed because its another day tomorrow!!! 😌😌
today was very fun and i feel rly good about myself. im so happy i started this again and that i am back to my recovery. everything will be just fine. i hope everyone a happy day always and forever
did list! [ may 14, 2022 ]
• i slept early (around 11) so i wake up at 6 am which for me is a quite an achievement
• literally just stood there on my frontyard and looked at the sky and the trees and the sunrise after buying soup, life is so good
• did my morning stuff (brush teeth, skincare, stretching etc) while dancing and listening to my current fave songs!
• had breakfast on my frontyard while writing a letter to my future self and just looking at the sunrise tbh, fresh air is amazing ( i had some soup and a chocolate drink ! )
• went to tumblr for a bit before i took my plushies to a bath! i def did not laugh evily at them as i drowned them under the water or whatever (they're drying under the sun now and they look so cute😭💀)
• fetched water (while teasing my cousin lol) and took a bath! i love feeling refreshed
• put on lotion (i got this cocoa butter lotion from my mom which i always used when i was a kid and it smells so good i want to eat it) and all that clothes stuff while watching one of sunshell's painting vlogs on yt!! (i love the sunshell so much < 33 )
• made the bed while listening to some songs again!
• i ate! i was very hungry so i needed to eat, i was hesitant at first but i assured myself and even got seconds! (mom made food and its very yummy, its like grounded meat with carrots and potatoes and amazing sauce ots so savoury)
• slept accidentally for like 1 hour and a half
• i felt very groggy waking up :/ so i just stayed on my phone a lot until
• i decided to paint!! i tried to use acrylics today since i barely do but my hand hurt from the sleep so i didn't paint a lot and what i painted didn't really satisfy me or anything but at least i painted somethng!!!
• i really wanted to go on a walk and eat something cold so i did! while my cousim joins me riding her bike, it was a long journey but we ate ice candy and some street food! ok funny thing is while my cousin was riding the bike she almost hit a man peeing on the fucking sidewalks😭 THE REACTIONS WERE SO FUNNY AND SUDEEN I JUST HAD TO LAUGH LOUD AS FUCK I TRIED TO HOLD IT IN BUT HOLY SHIT😭😭😭😭 IT WAS SO FUNNY I WISH I FILMED IT OR SOMETHING WHAT THE FUCK😭)
• chilled for a bit after we got home and ate some food! (tuna and salted eggs!)
• slept again for 3 hours oh my god????? 💀 (i slept a LOT today)
• watched over the store while i watch stanford free lesson vids on yt and planned out my assignments :) ate some snacks while i was at it
• ate dinner! (just some pasta with amazing sauce and boiled eggs while watching clueless on netflix! was very fun
• continued watching cluecless on my bed while hugging my stuffed toys, very fun and comfy ))
• rn im writing this and bout to do my skincare, uldate my irl blog and go to sleep! (its 1 am currently and i wish i coukd sleep sooner but its okay since i slept a lot today :)) see me tomorrow!

its been a while i think since ive done this but i woke up early today and getting a lot of things done so thats nice and want to write it down. i was sick yesterday so i didnt get to do the tasks i wanted done ( i painted tho and did a test atleast )
exercised and did my skincare :)
ate veggies and soup for breakfast :)) 🫑🍜☕
clipped my nails and brushed my hair while reading my homework and listening to songs featured in heartstopper :')
did my science assignments (which was a lot and took some time but it was very fun! i drew a pretty volcano lol)

took a bath! while listening to bags by clairo. very nice and refreshing

yesterday was very fun even tho i didn't create a did list. it started kind of bad but i ended up painting and playing the piano so everything went ok and i felt very happy 💝
