I’ve played a few hours of it anddd well the main story is short and I hear the ending is not great. The characters are pretty good I think, probably the strongest part of the story part of the game, voice acting is good. Dialogue system Sucks (2 pointless options that change nothing in the conversation). Flying around is fun, especially the Storm javelin, combat is pretty fun but repetetive. Generally a fun game but a bad Bioware game, imo.
Oh and LOTS of loading screens, do not play unless you have an SSD. I heard they patched some stuff but like, the loading screens are still there, just maybe slightly faster.
Word. I think — if this wasn’t attached to the expectations Bioware’s brand™ carries — the commentary would be a little different. But even by typical standards, I agree, the plot & script is a little hit-or-miss. Voice acting delivery was on point though. Also the animations had life & fluidity; looks nice. They added some flavor & richness to the character models.
If they were serious about plan on keeping the community alive for the next decade they have a lot of work ahead of them. I just hope they can build Anthem into a stand-out title with a stronger identity, beyond having good level verticality & jetpacks whereas others dont. They can only be so ambitious with the tools & leadership they’re given, but imo I’d rather they risk it & go wild with unique concepts now that Anthem is off the ground lol.
