@geekinglikeabossgames‘s OC, Dierdra, a necromancer! Isn’t she lovely~

Sometimes you have to drag your girlfriend away from a garbage fire she created, and that’s ok 🥰
(Very sketchy I’m sorry.)
Depressed rich kid hours. Aka Dierdra :D
Might draw her and Piers together down the line. >:)
It’s Dierdra time because I haven’t posted about her in a hot minute.
I’ve actually written a bit of her own AU when it comes to swsh, which is basically me fixing plot holes in the swsh writing and a dash of self-indulgence. If the “dash of self-indulgence.” Were actually “two shots of vodka.” If you get my reference.
But I can talk about Dierdra’s plot more if people are interested later, but what I actually want to bring up is her family. (Cause she has a lot— a family tree to be precise)
But the side of Dierdra’s family that matters right now is the Galarian’s. Specifically those who live in the crown tundra. Dierdra’s mom, Aoife, is a respectful lady, but has a lot she’s working through. She continues to be in a relationship with a prick, who’s half across the world right now. Then there’s Dierdra’s uncle who was more of a father figure to her than her bio dad.
Her uncle is a red headed lumberjack, who spends most of his time helping Aoife with the upkeep of the cabin. He taught Dierdra how to chop wood, wield an axe, basic tundra survival skills, and pokemon behavioral study.
I love thinking about Dierdra finally introducing Piers to her crown-tundrian family members. Her uncle gives him a once over then says, “hold out yer ‘and” Piers does nervously, and the uncle just drops an axe handle into his palm. Piers fumbles with it, almost falls over, and drops the thing. D’s uncle leans in and goes “He ‘as a lot to learn, lass.”
I love thinking about the snow mischief. The fact that Piers is completely out of his element, but is doing his best to be a supportive boyfriend. Dierdra brings Piers to the top of a snowy hill, for what he thinks is to see the view. As he’s awe-struck by the sunset, Dierdra hurls herself off the hill, rolling all the way down while screaming triumphantly. Piers cautiously descends the hill after her.
Eventually she convinces him to just jump. He’s psyching himself up, and she just pats him on the back supportively and accidentally pushes him down. “FUCK I KILLED HIM.” As she leaps after him. That’s the story of how Dierdra broke and arm and Piers broke his ankle. They collided at the bottom of the hill. Both have had their fair share of injuries, so as they’re being brought to a hospital they’re laughing hysterically at the whole situation.

So. My mom got me these watercolor brush pens, so I've started experimenting withem, and the first thing that I've learned is that almost all my pens(like my inking and gel pens) are water based!!! Yayyyy
My sharpies are alcohol based though, so they're my go to if I need some nice lines atm. That also means I need MORE. But like. I always need more sharpies? So it's not new lol
Still, I'm having fun experimenting with them, and I started with Dierdra! Specifically, I've been seeing what I can do to lean more into her witchfolk heritage, because that seems fun thematically. So I've been playing with lighting her hair on fire, as you do, which has been fun! I'll see if I can find the other versions I've been doing and adding them to this.
I'm definitely going to need to practice skin tones before I do more with my characters though. For my first time playing with watercolor, this was fun!
Dierdra's mafia pope outfit, with and without the cover thing. If you noticed that there's more different then just the cover thing, you'd be right!! I was a dingleberry and did the coat version first! And THEN I did without version. Worst part of all, I DIDNT SAVE ALL MY LITTLE ACCESSORIES. Which means I had to redo. Everything. All the color. It was slightly miserable, but also worth it. Because look! At that shirt! It's so cool! I'm so proud at how it came out!! It's now part of Dierdra's wardrobe from now on.
I realized I shaded Dierdra's hair wrong in between these two pieces. So it's actually really good for seeing why I switched! My new technique gives the hair more depth and has the color be more uhhh random? Variable? You know how hair is. Each strand has its own shadow, and the stands move together. This should be a simple way to allude to that. My old technique is more flat in comparison, trying to show color alternating but it's too controlled, predictable.
I'm also. Really proud of this pose. Like. It makes the whole piece. Specifically because it lets me give her an open shirt and a hint of side boob without. Sexualizing it? Yeah. I'm really really proud of this pose.
Chibis! Both their regular clothes and their pj’s, tho I only know of one scene where the pj’s are gonna come into affect and it’s only between the prince and princess! The betrothed! They bond playing in the woods in their pj’s! They’ve been doing that for their entire lives! It’s v cute I’ve drawn it a lil but I want to draw it more~
I did forget the prince’s knee gem pad things and the bodyguard’s gun, and I’m not 100% on Eir and my dwarf’s outfits, but for now they’re good.
