Not too bad
Today was an OK day food wise. Wednesdays are my weigh in day so I consider that a little bit of a cheat day. When I weighed in this morning I was at the same weight as I was last week. It is frustrating to not see the scale moving, but I thought back over last week, I didn't make the wisest choices, and so I guess that's my consequence.
Yesterday at lunch I ended up at Torchy's Tacos with Pam and where I would normally get a taco and chips & guac, I just got the taco. That was one of those in the moment decisions that I would normally say to myself, just get it, but I made a wiser choice, and I'm proud of that.
Today's morning meals went OK. I knew lunch was going to be at Greenhouse and I budgeted to have a turkey club. It was my "cheat meal". But when I came back to my office about an hour later I went right to the fridge and got one of the cupcakes that a potential vendor dropped off yesterday. There was no thought process, I just wanted one and it was there and I ate it. Afterwards I thought it wasn't even that good and I wasted all that sugar... These are the behaviors I need to change.
On the flip side, this evening I was really craving a Taco Bella bean burrito. I was also craving chicken strips and mashed potatoes, but I was really thinking about that burrito. I was trying in my head to justify it, but the longer I sat here I told myself, no we have birthday breakfast in the morning. You can't have that and then enjoy breakfast in the morning. And I talked myself out of it. I had to go to Target so I grabbed some hummus and carrots, and that my dinner.
It's like when I make my mind up about wanting to eat something, I justify it how ever I want and I just go after it. This is what was gotten me to the weight I am and what is keeping me yo-yoing weight each week. I have to break this behavior and this cycle.
I either read somewhere or someone told me (can't remember now) when you want something like that or you're craving something, to stop and take five deep breaths and think about what you're about to do, and usually the craving will pass. I keep thinking I'm going to use that, but obvs that didn't work today.
The girls and I walked this evening. It was a shirt 15 minute walk, but we were active. This needs to be a good week for me. I need to see some movement on the scale.
