hey so I'm writing a set of short stories that focus on Evil's relationship with humans. Each story would be Evil interacting (basically performing acts of evil upon and learning from) with different characters - ranges from a high school bully to a homeless man etc. My question is, given that the story is in Evil's perspective, how can i make sure that I remind the reader that Evil is pure-evil? So like how do i make it very clear that he is not human and has a different mindset to us? Thanks:)
One of the things that makes humans, well, human is our emotions. If you’re writing from the POV of an abstract concept like Evil trying to avoid emotions is a place to start. One emotion in particular to avoid is that of guilt. Most humans feel guilt, especially after doing something “bad.” When someone doesn’t feel guilt for something we classify them as less human, and they are scary to us. Try playing around with emotions, and using emotions opposite of that which humans are expected to feel.
