One of the most interesting finds found at the Star Carr Mesolithic site is that of the completely intact digging stick. A complete tool for unearthing edible roots and tubers; they are still used in parts of the world today.

Thank you all for your Stick of the Week suggestions. We thought we'd do something a little different this time, and show you an old exhibition photograph of the object on display. It is in fact a digging stick, and can be seen in the middle alongside other similar objects.
