I remember that I actually loved playing Digimon World so much as a 4 year old but having no idea how to play it or progress and having no older sibling who was interested in playing it with me. So I just never learned how to save and I always started a new game and was always in the beginner zone. This single soundtrack ambience is etched into my head for the rest of my life
So my friend has been live blogging, and I would give it a try myself. This is my first experience with the game Digimon world, as you can see, our leading lad Alice has just woke up in the digital world, i have been kidnapped.

Just my wife and I discussing Digimon World / Misty Trees and me admitting I think about it waaaayyy too much
(In our headcanon, World 1 is a prequel to Adventure and Mameo is a young Hiroaki Ishida, for context)
replaying a childhood classic for the first time in decades, first champion!
hell yeah boi
also playing unlocked some old memories of baby me
there are a handful of voice lines the player character will shout but theyre all in japanese and in super crunchy ps1 audio, and when this game came out i had no concept of anime.
so when you win the battle and your player shouts YATA! I always thought he was shouting YOU SUCK! and when you put your digimon to sleep the player says oyasumi but i always thought it was oh yeah, you sleep lol
