I find it hard to take the governments apparent push for "digitalisierung" seriously when you can't even use your debit card to pay in the post office.
"Where is your EC card?". I don't have one post office person. Because I'm from London. And it's 20 bloody 23 and we've moved on.
"You'll have to pay with cash." Ok. And where should I go take that cash from? Do you have a cash machine in the post office where you handle so much cash? No? No of course not. Because despite germanys love of cash trying to find a cash machine is like looking for a unicorn
This isn't shade on the post office worker btw because she is doing her job to the best of her abilities but everyone would benefit if tiny day to day transactions didn't take 10 years and make you want to rip your own eyeballs out!
