Soundcloud Tutorial Two: Create and annotate a private audio podcast for educational purposes
Soundcloud Tutorial Two: Create and annotate a private audio podcast for educational purposes
What I want to do is take a look at what I would suggest some of our more advanced students would do and how to use this as a tool. So one of the cool things about soundcloud as you’ll see is that there’s a way that you can go in and you can annotate audio clips.
So what you’ll see is here is a clip by cindy tss, red, hot chili peppers and basically, let’s go into the the adventure club remix. So…

I made that
1. hello //
okay, so, this is about to get super personal. maybe a little too personal, but that’s just the nature of tumblr, and this is my blog so i can do what i want. allow me to introduce myself: my name is emily, but you can call me em, and i am thirteen-years-old twenty years old and taking a deep-dive into the world of tumblr. specifically, i will be looking at and analyzing my experiences as a young teenager on this site. so, some context. tumblr first entered my consciousness around the sixth grade, and i believe it was through one of my older sister’s friends, who, for whatever reason, allowed me to look at her blog. i was obsessed with all the ~artsy~ photos and ~inspirational~ quotes. at the time, the only social media i was active on was facebook and youtube (which is a whole other can of worms), so this majestical tumblr just seemed so unique, almost secretive. so, i made my own.
i don’t exactly remember when i first made my own blog, nor do i remember what my very first blog was called. i had several blogs for different purposes at one point, and several more that i created just to keep the URL but ultimately abandoned. i can, however, recall two of the several URLs i’ve had: lavender-impulse and if-youll-be-my-star. pretentious, much? absolutely, but every kid on tumblr at the time was at least SLIGHTLY pretentious.
so. what did slightly-pretentious-early-teenage emily do on this site? as mentioned, i had different blogs that served different purposes, and i think those purposes can be categorized into three topics: identity, mental health, and sexuality. through images and text posts on this blog, i will explore how the strange world of 2013 tumblr impacted those parts of myself, both positively and negatively.
We create our future: Why we need to embrace critical digital pedagogy
We create our future: Why we need to embrace critical digital pedagogy
Why do I believe we need to embrace critical digital pedagogy in the design and experience of learning and teaching? Perhaps it is because I don’t want to live in a future like this:
Science Fiction Fact?
How would such a future come to be? A future dominated by commerce and competition, a future where who we are and what we are…

What next? Looking for a new grand adventure!
What next? Looking for a new grand adventure!
Although I’ve blogged for many years, I created this space at the beginning of my PhD journey, over 3 years ago. As I re-read my first post to this blog, I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed, and I honestly can’t quite believe that I have successfully completed my PhD and am able to call myself Dr Kay.
Now, I am keen to take on a new adventure!
My desire to continue learning and…

Clickbait, consternation and that elusive silver bullet: Falling down the rabbit hole
Clickbait, consternation and that elusive silver bullet: Falling down the rabbit hole
Feature image: Image by Computerizer from Pixabay Growing up, my parents demanded that my sister and I were quiet from 6pm until around 6.15pm every evening. This 15 minutes was when ‘the news’ – specifically ‘the headlines’ were on the television, and if Mum or Dad missed hearing the bulletin because we were playing noisily, they became very annoyed. Channel 7 news was their TV station of choice,…
