It’s our favorite day, gente! Alec Fanart Sunday!
This lovely piece of God’s Own Country digital art is by Instagram artist andrewscott_loves_halsey. On their post they says they are a senior in high school and that is amazing! Such great skill so young can only mean greater things on the horizon!
There is so much to see here but I keep being drawn back to Gheorghe’s eyes and the expression in them. It perfectly captures the look he had in the barn after they return from the hospital and Johnny takes out his frustrations on the cow. Gheorghe says nothing; just looks at him in silent, gentle reproach and you can see the bitter hostility drain from Johnny under that quiet stare.
The details make this work: the texture of Gheorghe’s hair, that of his jumper. The line of his mouth. The shading of his beard and just the whole energy of this work. The light is perfect, the deep set of his eyes, and even the line of his neck.
Just a wonderful work.
Thanks for reading! Thanks to the artist for sharing this with us and I hope to see you all tomorrow!
A loose and messy portrait I made to take a break from all my tedious clean art ;w;
