🚫 Commission Status Update & Scam Prevention — A Message to the Art Community
Hello, everyone. I’m SunbeamZero — storyteller, content creator, and long-time DeviantArt user (13+ years). This is an important public message addressing a growing issue:
🔻 Effective Immediately
I am no longer accepting any commission offers from random, low-engagement, or unverified accounts — especially those without portfolios, proper commission info, or engagement history.
I’ve received far too many suspicious, vague, or bot-like inquiries. This flood of cold messages has made it harder to connect with genuine artists. So let’s be clear:
💰 I do not spend money on commissions from artists I don’t know or trust.
🚫 Please do NOT spam my inbox, comments, or chat with unsolicited offers.
What Counts as a Legitimate Artist?
✅ Active for 6+ months
✅ Has real artwork, comments, watchers
✅ Posts commission info clearly (pricing, terms)
✅ Uses safe payment platforms like PayPal, Ko-fi
✅ Responds professionally & stays on-platform
🚩 Red Flags of Scam Accounts:
– New/inactive profiles with no content
– No visible art history
– “DM for pricing” but no sheet or examples
– Rushing to Discord/Telegram
– Uses flattery or vague compliments to lure you in
I work a full-time job (40+ hrs/week), and my time is limited. I’m open to collaborations, but only when grounded in mutual respect, trust, and value — not exploitation.
If you're a sincere artist: keep building, keep sharing, and keep creating. If you're here to exploit or deceive, I will not engage with you. Period.
We all deserve a community rooted in transparency, creativity, and integrity.
