So, I've been playing through Pokestuck, and every time a pokemon evolves, the game freezes afterwards. That problem didn't happen with the unpatched rom, so that makes me think that it's some issue with the patch? Repatching it didn't fix the problem either.
Yes, this issue was just brought to my attention a few days ago. I went to a forum and asked some more experienced hackers what would cause this problem and they said that an important piece of code was likely overwritten at some point. If that’s the case, finding the issue would require going through the coding and comparing it to the original rom to find the issue. I’m actually not entirely certain how to go about doing that.
Honestly, I’m considering starting with a clean rom and just rewriting the whole thing. I still have all the sprite edits saved, so that would cut down on the time a bit, but no matter what I do this is going to take some time to fix and figure out. Plus, I’ve got a debilitating flu at the moment, so I don’t have the kind of brain power to go through coding and such until this is all cleared out of my head.
For now, all I can do is apologize for the issue. I’ll do what I can as soon as I am able. I guess just consider this the broken beta release and I’ll work on a more functional patch as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience, and for alerting me to the issue.
