"H-Hey Jax!"

Came Pomni's soft voice as she gave him a hesitant wave. It'd been a couple of days since that whole um...fight between them. To be honest they probably had both needed some space since then and with clear awareness as to why, she had given the purple rabbit a wide birth, avoiding him if not for her own sake but for his. After everything they had said to one another, maybe they had needed the break.

Hopefully she thought...things were less volatile between them. At least that was her wish when she jogged up to him in the hall after everyone else had settled for bed. They were alone now...maybe he'd talk to her? Maybe...

"Sorry I-!..." The petite harlequin stammered to find the right words to say. What even could she say after all they went through.

"I um...hi."

Stunning try as always apparently.

She takes a moment to inhale and then exhale heavily from her nose, the action showcasing the weariness in her chest and shoulders; the jester couldn't help the look of concern from the tone in his words. Absent, far off - like his body was here, but his mind was adrift at sea.

Pomni didn't take into account what her absence could've done to the other circus members and if she had, this wasn't anything she had expected or had in mind in the slightest. Her voice was soft, almost a feeble whisper as she spoke.

⸺ ❝ Hey - I don't know what's going on but, you .. can talk to me, Jax. About anything, when you're ready. I just got sick for a little. I'm all better now. I'm right here. I'm as real as it gets. ❞

Jax is just staring at Pomni now..Before slowly patting her head, like she'll start purring like a kitten too- that's the joke here...

Pomni would glare up at him, huffing and batting at his hand with a scowl. "I'm not a cat!" She'd whine.

Ugh. She sneezed ONE time.

Of course. Of course he wouldn't respect her need for space, and would act s if what occurred between them didn't happen. Pomni shouldn't expect much else.

She was still sore from their interaction and how bad it ended. The jester sat there cross legged on the bed, repeatedly tossing a small rubber ball at the wall.

"...What do you want, Jax?" She was battling her concern for how badly the bunny had done before with the knife wounds from their fight twisting into her heart. "Why are you here?"

There was bite, there were teeth and dare she even implicate a hint of held back malice. She wasn't fucking around with him right now. Pomni was honestly fed the hell up; tired of the manipulative gaslighting he kept pressing onto her regarding her observations and thoughts that were real, true and valid claims. And all his constant dejecting and attempts at brushing her off just continued to prove her point.

Inside the shell of a supposed black hole, there was a scared little boy trying his damnest to not be seen, and yet, he was screaming at the top of his lungs in a space that nobody could hear him. Pomni saw that boy with her own eyes in the moments of sharing something intimate such as the things that he was afraid of. His fears were telling⸺it meant his humanity wasn't completely lost, just locked behind a closet to rest with his skeletons that he kept away.

Her fists drew back into themselves, her stance was at the ready to knock more sense into him if it was needed. ❝ Then prove it! Push me back!! Fight me!!! Show me you're this supposed villain with no redeeming qualities!! That you don't care about me!!! Do it, Jax. You've already hurt me verbally, what's hurting me physically as a cherry on the top of your pie, huh!? Stop being a coward!!! ❞
