[11-22-2023] Transcription_ I keep thinking about pants styles and what I want to look for in my wardrobe. Skinny jeans go with a lot, but can be too tight to wear all day. Most of my skinny jeans are very high waisted, which is uncomfortable to wear while sitting most of the day. I have a lot of shoes that look nice with them as well. Since I’ve been looking into more punk clothing, I want to revise my wardrobe a bit for stylish comfort. I love the idea of Frankensteining my pants and adding patches to make them tailored exactly how I want. I bought a pair of flared jeans, but that style doesn’t feel exactly right, either. I like this look of straight leg, rolled cuff, and harem pants. Something not too wide so I can tuck the cuffs into my boots. They need to be practical, but I love how expressive and custom patch pants are. I like the neutral, muted color palette of black, white, gray, and brown. Patch pants would help me to work with what’s in my closet and repair over the years to reduce waste. I like the casual slouchiness of the harem pants and could see making a pair for casual hangouts. My stretchy jersey pants are losing shape and seem to fall apart at the seams when I wash them. My calves are becoming intolerant to tight fabric, especially around my period. I’ve been wanting to incorporate more hand-dyed elements and patches of cotton for textural interest. I could make a wrap skirt with scraps as well, which would be great for changing sizes and bloat. I want to be more in tune with my wardrobe. (another digitized spread of one of my old journals, sticker and Gloomy are by @petite-gloom)
