It has been said there are 10 million ways to die. If I were to choose one, it would be standing alongside my brothers. What is a brotherhood? I’ve often found that it’s a difficult concept to put into words. Brotherhood is defined as an association of men, such as a fraternity or union, united for common purposes. Truthfully, the dictionary just can’t seem to do the term justice. A brotherhood is a bond, which at times, can be stronger than actual fraternal ties. There is a level of respect, loyalty and devotion that is immeasurable once you view someone as your brother. A brotherhood is only as strong as the degree to which commitments to each other are made and maintained. The DIGS Family ARE my brothers. They have provided me with employment; at one time, a roof over my head; but most importantly, an ongoing source of support in all of my endeavors. When I established The New Regime, there was very little love for our movement. There may have been a silent cheer for the underdogs, but very few we’re willing to stick their necks out and outwardly claim allegiance to TNR. From the jump, DIGS has given my crew guidance, insight and advice on how to navigate through this sea of sharks. They have opened their arms to my brothers, and have proven their commitment to our success. My man Dre always says, “if you shine, we all shine.” It’s crazy how life brings you full circle. I refuse to let them down.
