Oh Canada. SMH. Much love to you.
Oh Canada
I had a thought...
I know, weird right?
Anyways what is up with Canada?
I mean, I love the place to death. Super peaceful. Everyone's nice (its true) And they're pretty multicultural which is really good. Clearly socialism (almost) is the way to go. But regardless of all that good stuff. What the fudge is up? Canada is seriously super weird. In a very harmless and funny way.
I moved here a while back and one thing that I noticed was that every single freaking person from cradle to grave drinks freaking tea!!!! What the fudge?!
As a hater of tea...no offence to all you tea junkies out there...I simply don't get the appeal of drinking tea at all, but I accept it. But seriously, EVERYONE here drinks a ridiculously huge amount of tea!!!!
I'm all for the whole "to each his own" shite but wow.
I had a friend who got tea for christmas. She almost died of excitement. --------> -_- that is my face right now. Really? really? REALLY? Please someone save me from my horrid lack of knowledge with regards to tea. Tell me please, what am I missing?! I actually really want to know so that wasn't a rhetorical question.
Moving on from the tea.
Maple Syrup is next on my agenda.
Canadians love their maple syrup.
Like seriously.
I'm not even exaggerating
Every person's wallet probably smells like maple syrup to because some of their new bills smell like it. Its that serious.
Now, I don't like maple syrup.
I prefer the artificial stuff like president's choice or great value or aunt gemima.
So you can imagine how much fun I had when my school went on a freaking field trip to some maple syrup cowboy mix thing.
Yes there is a celebration.
We had to watch a video about the process of making maple syrup and then answer questions about it.
Fuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn.
There are two things wrong with that.
1. The fact that they have a whole celebration based on maple syrup.
2. The fact that its a cowboy thingy.
Why is everything cowboy-ish??? Last time I checked (and I'm not the best at geography) Canada was in the north.
Hold on...Let me search the definition of a cowboy.
According to google (or some dictionary website) a cowboy is
1. a man, typically one on horseback, who herds and tends cattle, especially in the western US and as represented in westerns and novels.
or
2. a person who is reckless or careless, especially when driving an automobile.
Last time I checked, Calgary was none of the above. So why the fudge to they have the Calgary Stampede - one of if not the biggest attraction in Calgary which is centered around cowboys?
Please my followers...help me understand.
I love Canada though seriously. This is not me complaining about this great nation (just in case the government is looking) :P
