Diluc is very aware of how other people think of him, he's scary. He's mean. He's bossy. But with you, he was gentle, he was soft, he was the scary man who stayed up till 3 am learning how to make your favorite cake, the man who spent hours of his time learning about the things you liked, the man who never forgot to kiss you goodbye and to tell you that he loved you, he was the man who went through thick and thin to insure your safety and happiness, the man who cried on your shoulder when you visited his father's grave, the man who held your hands and kept them warm when things got tough, he was the man you loved, the man who loved you back.

Not many people wanted to "get to know" albedo, they wanted to hear about his studies about how his brain worked, what experiments he was doing, what new way of alchemy has he discovered but none of them wanted to know..
"Albedo what's your favorite color?"
What an absurd question, even more absurd was that he didn't know the answer....what did he like? Pink? Red? Blue? He looked to baffled it was almost laughable, he had never thought of something so trivial, so from that day on you made it your mission to find out what his favorite color was, that was how it started at least, the more you questioned him the more you got to know how....cute he was, he was quite oblivious to social norms, got flustered quite easily, was awkward and introverted, he was a great alchemist yes but he was also a shy boy, a shy boy who had caught some feelings.

Xiao isn't good with emotions, never has been, he doesn’t even know how he got so far in this relationship in the first place, he was horrible at expressing himself through words, so the only way he knows how to show his love properly is through his actions, like holding hands under tables, sharing tofu, sitting just a little but closer to you, walking on side of the pathway that faced the road, opening the door for you if he was ahead, walking by your side never too far behind never too forward, always near you. With Xiao, the little things mattered.
