Autumn, my project doll, finally got her own shoot! Her body is janky at best and still needs some mods to function better. So far I’ve restrung her, given her a new face up, and modded the thigh elastic slots to be longer. Still need to hollow out her hip sockets so she can sit up straight.
Autumn’s history is under the cut!
She was a gift from a friend in the US shortly before I moved to Austria. She was her first doll and she’d fallen out of love with her. Our other dolls had already been sent off within the shipping container, so we were going to take Autumn on the plane with us.
Due to some hiccups (like our suitcases and carry-ons being too heavy), she got left behind along with some other things with a friend. She’s been kept safe for almost a year, until she made her way back to me in May. Except she arrived without her head cap the poor thing. My friend didn’t notice that the head cap was missing when she sent her.
I did not let that stop me though. I simply went out and bought some Fimo and made her a head cap. It’s not perfect, and it’s lumpy, but it stays on with magnets and it allows her to wear wigs just fine.
I had no idea what to do with Autumn at first, and was thinking of possibly selling her, but with no papers (she’s legit, I know that much) and no head cap she’d be a hard sell.
So I tried different eyes in her, and the only spare MSD wig I had along with some clothes and she decided that she was Autumn.
I used to own a YoSD sized doll named Autumn, but they aren’t the same “character”, they just share a name. I gave her head away on Tumblr intending to get her a new head, but that new head decided to be Winter instead.
Anyway, Autumn is here to stay, at least for a while. I don’t know if forever, but she has a certain charm to her.
