TL;DR: I still have dolls, and I’m studying visual art and Japanese at uni!

Update! So I’d been going to a local university as a ‘mature’ student for the last year and a half, working towards getting good enough results to apply for ANU (the Australian National University, Australia’s top uni). At the same time I’ve been working on rehabilitating myself from social anxiety disorder. It’s through exposure therapy, an ongoing process of planned gradual exposure with a doctor’s supervision. It’s damn hard, terrifying and exhausting, but things are getting better slowly but surely.

Anyway, that’s why I haven’t had much time recently to work on BJDs, since studying hard to get my life back on track and learning to live normally again leaves me pretty exhausted. Since I’ve moved from full time work to being a student, money is pretty dang tight and I haven’t really been able to add any dolls to my crew or anything for a while. But I’ve been posting pics when I can and I’m still here loving my dolls :) Above is a box opening pic of the bargain body I grabbed recently on Taobao, an old Glorydoll(?) body, possibly AKA Angel Region Fair body?

Anyway, I’m happy to say that I got straight HDs and was accepted into ANU, and started there about a week ago! I’m studying a double degree in Bachelor of Asian Studies (Japanese Language) and a Bachelor of Arts (possibly Digital Humanities major, and Visual Arts minor.) I’m doing a ceramics unit at the moment, because of my interest in BJDs. It’s my very first time studying visual art or working with ceramics, and it’s fun but I’m very unsure of myself. Wondering if I want to transfer to a Bachelor of Visual Arts instead of Bachelor of Arts. I passed the Visual Arts portfolio and interview when I applied, but ended up choosing the Bachelor of Arts degree instead...

The most exciting goal is to study overseas in Japan, on exchange and/or short course. I’d studied Japanese at high school and in my 20s but I’ve forgotten a lot through disuse so I’m just at an intermediate level. I really need to work on bringing back my kanji knowledge again. If you’re interested in studyblr or japanese langblr posts, I’ll post them on my side blog @damaskerade. Along with my cats ‘helping’ with study. :p
