4/7/2022 - Praying for our hometown of Dingalan as well as the town of Dimanayat. Many of our friends and family are currently facing serious danger due to Typhoon Karding. As I type this entry Lola, my mother-in-law, her kids, our Ninong and Ninang are trapped in their car. A large tree fell on the front end and electrical wires are blocking them from the rear. Some terrifying videos are being posted to local Facebook groups as well as calls for help. Although I wish we were there to help them, I am thankful to the Lord for keeping us safe here in Baguio.
Update: We just lost communication with them and I believe all of Dingalan's cell service is currently down.
Update: Communications seem to be restored. Our Ninong just informed us that they were able to get away from their car and to a safer shelter. Praise the Lord!
Update: The storm appears to be subsiding. Their car was almost moved by the wind. Many trees are falling. Roofs are being lifted from houses.
Update: Our family was able to find shelter due to the kindness of strangers inviting them into their home. Whoever you are, thank you! Allaine and I will be bringing you fresh Baguio strawberries as soon as we get back to Dingalan!
Update: As the storm continues to subside, there are currently no deaths reported or recorded in Dingalan. Thank you Lord! Also, the local government is already working to remove fallen trees from the road as well as other clean up efforts. I applaud everyone on the ground helping the people of Dingalan! Praying things continue to improve from here.
