( katya’s relationships with all of her siblings. seriously, it’s the most wholesome thing tbh??? her brother damon was born a year after her, and growing up, they used to tell people they were twins. damon was the first person that katya confided in after the night with blu, damon in turn joined blu’s cartel as a means of protecting katya and later on, katya supplied the money for damon’s club. katya’s sister reynelle, although she does her own thing, also grew up to be extremely close to her and katya even let reynelle live with her for a short period of time while reynelle juggled school and raising her daughter naima. katya’s sister soraya, although disliked by most of the vaughn siblings, looks up to katya because growing up, katya protected her from bullies both in school and in their own family— in fact, katya is the only person that soraya is close to and katya will go to great lengths to protect soraya. bakari, although he’s disappointed katya numerous times, would literally give his life for his sister and looks up to her a lot more than he’d admit in person. and finally, katya’s younger brother ni’kyah loves his sister despite the choices she’s made and the relationship she has with their mother, and katya tries to spend as much time with him as possible and make sure he has everything he needs while he’s at harvard, seeing him as a better reflection of herself. it’s also worth mentioning that she’s looked after all of her siblings while they were growing up, and sees them as her own children sometimes. the vaughn siblings are really a unit. )
