I’m getting the feeling that Shiro’s big character development is going to be him being sent to Pollux meeting Romelle and helping to free them from Galra rule. Ultimately showing that he doesn’t need Voltron to be good. Then, marrying Romelle and happily ever after.

People have been saying this since like episode one haha, and every season we wait for it to happen and nothing, half the show in already and still no sign of Romelle or Pollux haha

I wonder if maybe there are more episode beyond the 78?

Anyway, yeah definitly a diplomatic role for Shiro in the future. He’s just too good at it to not let it play out in some way.

Do you think the lack of focus on the xenophobia in Dracula by Tumblr might be due to the fact that many Tumblr users are from the US where Eastern Europeans are categorized as White.

I think that's possible, but my speculation is that people will understandably read and analyze the text through the personal lens of their own experiences, and given the many readings through the lens of misogyny, ableism, queerness, etc. compared to xenophobia, I would guess there aren't as many readers on tumblr who have the personal experience of xenophobia as immigrants or otherwise, or if they do, maybe it's not as relatable to this specific text and the way Dracula works as a possible metaphor for foreigners as the Other in a xenophobic society; but that's just my guess, not a hard truth.

But that would have been true no matter what part of Will Hannibal decided to eat. This way Hannibal watches Will slowly fade away -- just as many people watch their dearest loved ones slowly fade away -- but in this case it’s all under Hannibal’s control. He feasts himself on Will’s very essence, cherry-picks the parts he’d most like to eat. He consumes the part of Will he’s most interested in, the part of Will that truly makes Will who he is, the part of Will that makes him Hannibal’s equal. It’s a little brain-melting to think Hannibal would actually want to do this, but then again cannibalism is the way Hannibal expresses himself; he always derives satisfaction from it, and I think it would have been interesting to explore whether he could derive satisfaction from eating someone he loves. Whether Hannibal’s cannibalism could be rejiggered into an act of utmost love, rather than an act of destruction or punishment. Slowly eating someone’s brain and watching their sense of self disappear doesn’t really sound like the height of romantic love to me -- but that’s precisely why I would have loved to see the show take on the challenge of portraying it that way.

I understand that Bryan doesn't want to add to the evil gay trope, but if the casual viewer and mainstream media start seeing the relationship as gay doesn't that defeat the point? It's not like they will be reading every interview or BTS commentary to know that BF wanted it to not be that way.

Yeah, I mean, it’s almost like he doesn’t trust his own storytelling powers. He *shows* a homoerotic relationship but describes it as a fraternal and homosocial one in interviews. But practically no one outside of us reads the interviews, so who is he even talking to? But even if he ran the whole show with an appended #NoHomo hashtag at the bottom of the screen, it’d still look like a mega-gay deep purple opera romance - because he *deliberately* makes it look like one! So why doth the lady protest so much?..
