"You're of no great fortune, and thus of no great consequence. On the topic of marriage, I'd forego it altogether. Pledge yourself to a religious order, and allow the impossible standards of purity fuel your perversity." She lowers herself, stature bent at the hips, hands resting on them. "You're a pretty little thing. Perhaps some aging Mother Superior would like you splayed with a tribute to the stigmata, while you manipulate blood." She holds Elise's hand out, and pokes a gloved finger into the centre. Then she smirks. "Would you prefer that to working for me in my dungeons? Careful, girl, on how you answer."
She doesn't care about the answer. She likes the intimacy - the teasing.
Elise cannot stop the quirk sneaking along the corner of her mouth as the good lady's words settle in the air with all the pomp and fanfare of a days-old birthday garland. The idea of devoting herself to any religious order was…absurd. The few extended stays she had made in monasteries and abbeys were unpleasant. Despite weeping statues and holy wounds, there were few allowances for magic.
"Of course not, my lady." The mage could lie when need be, but these false words were not hidden behind adverted eyes or soft shrugs. Instead, the teasing words accompanied a bold smirk and blazing eyes as her lithe finger curled inwards to grace over the finger stabbing into her palm. The skin there buzzed slightly, somewhere between anticipation and anxiety. She had seen what those hidden claws could do.
