Four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship
Commitment to a scouting and guarding duty for her that lets him act out ₊˚⊹⋆justified₊˚⊹⋆ violence will change him. Given the opportunity to lean into a more predatory nature, blood will stop panicking him or giving him conflicted feelings over time.
His sense of smell is significantly more acute than a human's, and given the motivation, he would be able to identify different diseases or parasites in the bodies of other specimens. I would love to imagine her realizing this and her exploring his use in very specific lab work. HERO rat sniffing for tuberculosis type of thang. Him being able to tell that something is wronggggg with her. : )
The way his body will react to things and what symptoms he might show will also be different than a human's. In an RE verse, this could be very interesting!! Accidental exposure to something and how she chooses to study and address or excise that threat? Maybe even hide it to handle it herself and not give up a specimen she has attachment to?
His world has grown and shrunk and grown. His world will shrink again, under her care. Sever him from any ability to serve The Greater World* in the way that he's trying to, and he'll reach a breaking point eventually, and have to try to acclimate to a new Greater Good to serve. How she behaves and what she chooses to do will have a lot of control over what that looks like.
The smell of latex, nitrile, assorted chemicals? The touch of a gloved hand, a safe barrier. Allowed, controlled intimacy. Familiar and terrifying and new and different, building on old expectations while breaking so many of them. She will know that he's been in a position something like this before before he ever opens up about it. It'll show.
Through her though, the investigative touch of a glove will become oddly more comfortable than a bare hand.
