It's That Kind of Party by AfterDarcotex (decotex)
There are a lot of jokes about That Kind of Party, but who actually wrote the thing? Where are all the mountains of fanfics we should have about good and sexy times with this three way material the show served up to us on a silver platter??? There is just not enough Dimmond fic period.
This is a fic about how it became that kind of party. Not too graphic but very sexy and sensual. And although I usually roll my eyes at using olive oil as lube THIS TIME I DID NOT.
Hannibal/Dimmond/Bedelia. Do it. Its that kind of party.

kind of a random ask but why do you think anthony thought he could blackmail(or what ever he wanted;) ) hannibal for murder and not expect that he could be murdered too he seemed smart but then again peoples arrogance never ceases shock me
To be fair, no one is really ready for the full extent of Hannibal.
Antony Dimmond was playing with fire of a magnitude he hadnot encountered before. He got over his head real quick and it was hisarrogance that led him to think he could not only handle it, but that he had the advantage in the situation. I have a suspicion that Antony wriggled out of a lot of tight spots with a combination of his wit and charm. He thought that with the addition of the dirt he had on Boris/Roman, he held all the cards.
Dimmond was a shit-stirrer, but he’s used to stirring the shit in an academic setting where the stakes may be high career-wise, but not life or death. He wasn’t trying to blackmail Roman/Hannibal/Boris for anything as crude as money. He wanted experience and excitement. He had an attraction to danger and he loved to be in the middle of drama. The first time he sees Boris Jakov in that party he knows that he’s sexy and dangerous and, boy does this scratch Antony’s itch. He makes a bee-line for him and he isn’t shy. He starts the conversation by trash-talking someone else at the same party. You can almost feel him dialing up the charm to 11. Poor guy doesn’t realize that he’s the one being charmed.
When Antony runs into Boris again, who is now suited up and pretending to be Roman Fell, he knew there was some kind of secret and he wanted in on it. He wanted to feel superior to all those fancy academics who were kissing the ass of a fake Roman Fell. Antony is all about Us vs. Them and he likes to be with the cool kids. Boris/Hannibal, with his rebellious leather pants and homicide, is definitely a cool kid.
Dimmond thought that Hannibal revealing to him plainly (by telling him to come to “Roman Fell’s” lecture)thathe was not who he claimed to be was an invitation to the dance. Hannibal wasnot trying to skitter away and cover up his cover up, he was pulling Antonycloser with both hands. To Antony, who doesn’t know how Hannibal works, this inencouraging. He wants to bring me into his confidences! He wants to have meover for dinner! He wants to have a three-way! Not now, but maybe later! A sexual encounter with a potential murderer and/or his icy blonde wife is something that not many people could claim and would be quite the feather in Dimmond’s cap. Even if he could never tell anyone, he would know and that would be enough.
Taking away the sexual angle, this is Tobias Budge all over again. Tobias wanted toblackmail a relationship out of Hannibal by dangling what he found out abouthim in front of him. It didn’t go well for him either. In both cases, no matterhow promisingly amoral these buddies might be, they suffer in comparison to Will.Hannibal tells Bedelia that, on paper, Tobias is a good match for a friend, buthe’s just not feeling it. Tobias’ knowledge of Hannibal’s activities makes him dangerous and he has to be eliminated. Antony suffers the same fate as Tobias. He doesn’t realize what a mistake he’s made in underestimating Hannibal until its too late.
dimmond will live on forever in my heart as scarf dad
Since Hannibal brained poor Antony with a bust of Aristotle, we have canon proof of one non-Platonic interaction on this show.
so, what’s the ship name for Dimmond and Hannibal? shortlovers? help pls
Why don’t you two whip ‘em out and see who has the bigger vocabulary?
