At a distance, the setting sun is shining on the Yangtze River.  The surface of the river is vast and wide.  A river steamer whistles as it passes, and the birds chirp crisply in the air.  At this moment, she is not thinking of her terrible past, or her pending career path.  She’s not thinking about the man in her dreams that causes her to toss and turn at night, or the mysterious Han Chen. She is thinking about the future. She thinks, perhaps she can step onto a bigger stage, and chase after a more meaningful dream.  There is still a long road ahead of her. Thinking about When a Snail Falls in Love tonight. I enjoyed that so much (even more than Love Me If You Dare). I believe I watched that before I had this side blog and then I read some of Ding Mo's fan translations back then. I need to see if more of her books were adapted.

Love Me If You Dare [C-novel] by Ding Mo

I will be sharing quotes and scenes from Love Me If You Dare novel by Ding Mo.

I finished watching the drama adaptation sometime in January, and now I’m on to the novel. Although I love Wallace Huo, but I realized he doesn’t totally fit the image from the book lol!! Of course not everyone who have read the book and watched the drama will agree with me….

Anyway, some quotes will start rolling in 😀

Upon watching the last episode of ‘Love Me, If You Dare’ after having read the novel, I felt numerous things but the main one was that mistakes and environment do shape but don’t define a person.

One’s ability to recognize evil does not increase their likelihood of embracing it. Sometimes, it only takes one person to drag one out of a lonely crowd and a few different people to bring forth one’s multiple characteristics.

Somehow, I was reminded of ‘Jeux d'enfants ’ which I watched long before and coincidentally shares the same title in English (I didn’t known that). The hypothetical scenes as well as the snippets of the characters’ past, how they relate to one another in the ongoing present making them direct/indirect players in a ‘game’ with obsession and possession as key words.              There is more to it in my mind, yet I cannot word it.
