Hands down my favorite character in Iljimae is Soe Dol as of ep 14. I'll admit the first time i watched this, I was all about Cha Dol, but i really appreciate the grown men and women in this rewatch. (Jung Jae Eun, give me a chance,) This man, despite being an illiterate thief that takes jobs from corrupt officials, really looked around his town and said "is anyone going to raise that kid?". And he said it twice. He risked everything to rescue a kid who lost his father to violent, political murder. He is sooo soooo distraught when he realizes that Yong regains his memories because it directly endangers this young man that Soe Dol has raised the last 10 years. The grief and distress that Lee Moon Shik conveys when he discovers Iljimae's underground lair is heartbreaking. I've been watching his dramas since Damo, and he never disappoints.
