So i havent heard anthing more about the dinnergames- are they cancelled or has somethin come up?
Honestly, I got exactly zero submissions for round two.
It was fun for a little while, but we all got busy with real-life stuff. Maybe next time I'll put more thought into it, but for now I think it's over.
Also, TECHNICALLY a-fictional-vaudeville won by default since no one submitted anything for Round 2 and she was exempt from disqualification, but that's bullshit so I deem it null.
But yeah. Round 1 was fun, Round 2 not so much. We'll try again during the summer! :)
Do both team member have to reach 700 to make it to the next round?
Nope. In case I didn't say it in the rules, the points only go towards exemption from elimination from here on out. You don't HAVE to score more points, but it will make your life easier should you come in first.
Also, message me whether or not you'd like to redeem your exemption... if not, all your points roll over to this round! Otherwise, it'll cost you 100 points.
Round 2, Begin!!
Alright everyone, it's time for Round 2 to start! Before we begin, here is the challenge:
I will be breaking you off into teams of two. Each team will have to write a 200 word short story based on two randomly generated words. The stories must be written round-robin style; in other words, each player will take turns writing a sentence or phrase and then switch off. This may be accomplished by any means necessary, whatever is easiest for you. The stories may be about whatever you want, granted it relates to your themes in one way or another. The stories will be graded on creativity, emotional value (make me laugh, make me cry, etc.), and how well they relate to their given themes. While spelling and grammar will not be taken into consideration, I won't grade it if I can't fucking read it. Keep that in mind.
You may be asking yourself, "but what about the points??" Good question! Here's the deal: the point goal for Round 1, as you no doubt recall, was 100 points. What I didn't mention was what would happen if you finished in first place. The player who finishes each round in first is given the option to either retain their points in full, which would then roll over to the next round, or to spend their points (or in this case, 100 points out of their total) to buy exemption from elimination in the next round! For instance, a-fictional-vaudeville finished Round 1 in first place, and is therefore extended the opportunity for exemption! The point goal for Round 2 will be 700 points, but qualification for Round 3 will be earned through the challenge stated above. (Dear god I hope this makes sense).
Now to split up the teams! These will be the teams for Round 2, as well as their randomly generated prompt words in parenthesis:
Team 1: a-fictional-vaudeville / k7vin (empty, wealthy)
Team 2: constable-connor / kippyp (correct, failed)
Team 3: lyssalikestolivelife / doctorwhoandcorgis (interim, challenging)
Team 4: mylittlepornicorn / koofler8 (leaded, red)
Team 5: animusforgotten / secondhandnunnery (aligned, independent)
