Gobble Meal Subscription Review: this was an amazing dinner the other night from my #gobble box: sumac spiced salmon with haricot vert, tabbouleh, and tzatziki. The flavors were amazing and I really liked the tabbouleh salad! . . Review: this was my second @gobbleinc box, and by far the best meal of the six I made. Part of the appeal of Gobble is the prep work is (mostly) done for you: minimal chopping needs be done, taking anywhere from 20-40 mins of prep off the overall time of preparing a dish. However, because so many ingredients are shipped cut/chopped/shredded, the quality of the ingredients degrades quickly. Several of the other dishes I made too small or poor quality because the chopped ingredients sent had gone bad by the time i went to use it (think mushy celery, sweaty cheese, dry and blackened cabbage). The recipes themselves are great, and I'll remake them again, but with ingredients I can ensure are fresh. This issue with deteriorating quality is amplified by the fact that although the boxes are shipped with several ice packs, the ice is fully thawed and warm and the food inside is in danger-zone temperature levels. Shipping food is a challenge, particularly in the desert southwest, but I've never had these kind of issues with other subscription services.
