Stiles’ eyes flicked to Zach, it was nice to see him asleep for once he knew it was hard, he knew the nightmares filled the other. In fact, nightmares filled all three of them, Stiles’ fingers ran into his hair feeling uneasy. Stiles wondered why he said what he did to Gray, maybe seeing as Stiles seen himself in the child a little.
He was so thankful that he had gotten to meet these two, was that weird? Stiles enjoyed being around them, even with everything that had happened to him. Stiles pushed on a small smile, it was like he had a somewhat normal life with these two, but it scared him so much they’d get hurt again, hurt thanks to him.
The human looked at Gray, this killed him. He hated that he used those words, PROMISE, how could Stiles promise something like that? This town was filled was crawling with something that could kill.
He wanted to lie, he HAD to lie didn’t he? Stiles would do anything he could to protect and CARE for the boy. He wanted to keep the horrors from this town away from Gray and from Zach, but how could he when Stiles was a monster himself?
“I can do what I can, I PROMISE I’ll try, I’ll try really really hard to make sure everything is okay. I mean...I don’t want to make a promise to break it and you hate me, but Gray I really will try, I’ll try and make sure you and Zach are okay, I really do love and care for you a lot.”

Fingers tugged through the curls that splayed across her thighs. His hair had been this way since the day he was born; she remembered that day so well. Claire adored the curls and silently hoped they’d be that way forever. Smiling down at her nephew, her heart felt the most peace it had in a long time. She settled against the pillows, her fingers still running through his hair gently. Since everything happened, it seemed like the little boy always slept better with someone close to him. She remembered Karen telling her that it was even that way at home, that he and Zach rarely ever slept apart anymore. Of course the redhead was more than okay with Gray climbing into her bed & settling in her lap in the middle of the night. She smiled slightly in the darkness, taking a deep breath of her own and shutting her weary eyes, lids suddenly heavy.
