Never did she want to follow in her father’s footsteps— but her university boyfriend sure did. He took her place in the family business and she found her own path, a job under Regina Scott. Together, they give couples the best night of their lives. One she knows will only be a night of dread for her. She loved Alec, once. Truly, they’d been good together. Until the ring was on her finger and his job alongside her father was confirmed.

Who knew how many pretty little things could cause his eyes to wander and how many drag out fights could occur but never break them. But, she can’t end it. It would ruin everything her father has planned for him, for the company. And so the wedding is pushed back again and again, excuses given growing weaker and weaker. She’ll play the role when needed, but oh how she is jaded. Work is where she hides. So, when Regina requires her assistance halfway across the world? She’ll give anything for a break from the act.

the question has left her lips before she’s even made it through the gigantic glass doors that separate her personal waiting area from the REST of the floor. her coat is off, dropped onto a coat hanger for zara to move to a closet later, purse still over her shoulder as she hands off a thick stack of papers to her personal assistant, all business, even that early in the day. the rest of the building would be brimming with employees entering their monday morning work day within the hour, but she was always there early, and as such, zara was required to follow suit.

      ❛ i want lunch with erin at one o’clock, and yes i know she’s just back in town, but i spoke to her last night. tonight’s date night, it’s my turn, could you find the name of that little place i mentioned last week ? the italian one by the river. i need reservations at eight and flowers for noah. i’m tired of fielding o’leary’s calls, tell him i’m not interested in the gala. ❜

she was silent for a moment, noting as she handed over the folder she was holding that zara’s engagement ring was NOTICEABLY absent from her ring finger. it was far from the first time, and immediately her mind changed tracks. she dropped her bag on zara’s desk, a dramatic sigh leaving her lips, as if she were simply exhausted.

      ❛ ...you know what, though ? it’s monday morning, and i’m sure we could BOTH use some coffee. turn on the answering machine, i’ll have ariel bring us up the usual. let’s take a moment in my office. ❜

the warmth of her employer’s breath somehow RADIATED over her skin, leaving a coat   of goosebumps in its wake.  when had claire gotten so close?  and when did it become   so bloody hard to  BREATHE around her? head tilting ever so slightly, eyelashes flutter   shut at the sound of that velvet voice.

  ❝ then don’t. ❞ the words hung in the air before she even realized she’dSPOKEN. there   was NO GOING BACK NOW.

  ❝ don’t be professional– not now. ❞

The response stops Claire in her tracks. Pulling her out of time & leaving  her, mouth gaping and closing repeatedly like a fish someone left out of  water. Was this some kind of joke? A dare?        you should have more restraint than this                                                     come on, Claire, where’s your will?   all sorts of things ran through the Manager’s head. Enough to, apparently make her so dizzy she didn’t know what she was doing. Or maybe she did.  She knew exactly what she was doing. She was giving in.  Claire’s hands find their way over hips covered in a tight stretch of fabric,  inviting herself further into the dark haired woman’s personal space. She  leans in, too close but yet too far away. Their lips aren’t even brushing but  she can feel Zara’s breath against her mouth & her nose and she breathes  back a sigh of contentment, head tilting slightly as her eyes open in question.                     “ you’re sure you want me to do that, Ms. Young? ”

Let me talk about @angelxmarwolaeth / @dinodelicacy. As far as I know we both spent quite some time being terrified of each other before we first started interacting, and I’m so happy we eventually talked and became friends. Jax is so important to me I don’t even know where to start. I think what I really like and what makes me really comfortable is that we can fight and still be fine afterwards. She’s so lovely and kind and it’s so easy to have fun with her, and whenever we don’t agree we can still figure it out and go back to normal. That makes Jax incredibly special to me and I appreciate that a lot.

Jax is such a funny person, she’s clever and witty and endlessly creative. I love both of her muses so much, and Noah is head over heels in love with Anna. Writing with her comes so natural and never forced and that’s what makes interacting with Jax ic so fun.

Also Jax is ridiculously beautiful, just as a ‘by the way’. 

I love her so much and I’m so happy we met and I can wholeheartedly say that she’s one of my closest friends, so if you mess with her I’ll throw lego bricks in front of your feet.

  Giovanni smiled a large, wicked smile in its own sense. He knew better than to hurt those who were close to mother Claire, the faces and scents of those familiar from when they strolled by. There was no true intentions of hurting this woman, and he left that evident.
