your daily dose of ramblings
i FINALLY found a dress for amy's engagement party today. it took two hours of trawling various stores on rundle, being an incredibly picky bitch and frustrating my long suffering uni friend brouc.
every dress i tried on was either too small, too short, see-through, had a broken zipper, was too expensive, had a colour that made me look like a walking corpse or it wasn't dressy enough.
in the end i said "fuck it" and we went to cotton on. there i saw a mannequin wearing a pretty dress, a cardigan, and a braided belt. i bought the entire outfit.
i ended up spending $25 more than i wanted too, but i got a belt and a cardi out of it, so it's not so bad.
i also did some last minute rearranging of the budget, all because i had to use my card to get the aforementioned outfit. somehow i ended up with $5 more in my savings and at least $10 more to spend. i don't know how the frick that happened.
the dress is really very flattering. i didn't even try it on until i got home, and it looks fabulous. i'm impressed enough that i want to go back and buy the various other colours of dress in that style.
in other news, i have become addicted to sumo salad. awmahgawd, the mustard and chicken pasta salad? TO. DIE. FOR. i only got a small one, but it was delicious and filling and omnomnom. also, sprite zero? not that bad.
i find the less sugar i consume, the less i crave it. huh.
i've been looking at multiple sites for london clothes and london luggage all night. i'm aware that the london move is over two years away. that doesn't seem to deter me in the slightest.
i may or may not have a creepy obsession with trench coats. i want 5 of them, in various colours and cuts. someone make this happen.
i am looking forward to tax time more and more everyday. when tax time comes around, i will be able to pay off my debt to mother, buy a new ipod, and go shopping for pretty shinies (aka clothes and shoes. MY PRECIOUSSSSS)
of course, in order to afford my "get tax and spend it all" idea, and not go completely broke, i had to sacrifice the idea of a new dresser. *sob*. oh well, i'll just get a new one when i come back from london.
brouc and i got distracted in borders today by the various sale items. there were dinosaur bookends. DINOSAUR. BOOKENDS.
we didn't buy anything there though *pout*
i am now one of those people who drinks soy chai lattes. not because i'm being a pretentious hipster, but because i can't have lactose and i don't want to taint my fond memories of hot chocolate with the soy. they aren't that bad really. a little odd, but not bad.
nana and mother have both informed me of what they are getting me for my birthday. nana is getting me the hoodie i so desperately desire (YEAYAH), and mother is getting me the book i want and a bottle of smirnoff. *sniffle* i love my family...
i am looking at applying for a job in admin, or as a bank clerk. something mindless, like data entry, would be perfect. better pay than customer service, better hours than customer service, and i'll have weekends off to party. yes, you heard me: party.
WE LIKE TO PARTY WE LIKE WE LIKE TO PARTY
and, really, i'd only be in the job for two years. because then i'd be leaving to work in a pub in london. so it's not a major sacrifice of my potential. i can worry about a lasting career when i get back to the land of oz.
i am really worried that the perfect dress i got for my birthday party is not going to fit when it comes to the big day. i told myself when i bought it that i'd be able to lose the inch around my chest no problems, but now i have just over a week, and i've only lost a quarter of that inch.
if that dress does not fit in time, i will cry.
i have decided that, while i am in london, i am going to get my bottom lip pierced like i have always wanted to. because that's what british people do. because they're, like, indie and shit.
then, right before i come home, i will remove it so the wound can heal, and then mother/nana/grandad/all of the above will not sacrifice me to the god of disobedient offspring.
wow, i have a lot of ramblings today.
why am i even using dot points?
