I saw Shvorne Marks on my dashboard and realized it has been A WHILE since I last saw her. So, as I generally do when it's been a while, I went to see if she was still active on Instagram.

And, it looks like she's been doing mostly audio things and her most recent project she posted is reading the newest Queenie book (like the show)

Now, I won't lie - I have never read this book. It is outside of my genres of interest and I got very mixed reviews on both the book and the show, BUT...

I love me a little journey. I love going to go see what Shvorne Marks is up to and 1. Learning that Candice Carty-Williams has added to her Queenie story and 2. Remembering to go now check and see what Dionne Brown has been up to (The actress who played Queenie)

I didn't find nothing out, but I hope she's well.

From a young age, Black girls are often taught that their natural hair isn't beautiful or acceptable. Seeing a representation of hairstyles like Havana twists on television is crucial. It's empowering and affirming. Big shout out to Queenie for perfectly capturing this!
